Children’s Day Celebration at DRISHTI The Vision Care, Faridabad.
At DRISHTI The Vision Care, Children’s Day was celebrated with joy, learning, and thoughtful awareness. Our clinic welcomed little ones with fun activities, colourful setups, and friendly interactions designed to make eye check-ups a positive experience.

Children bring brightness into our world, and their eyes are the windows to that bright future. On this special day, we focused on spreading awareness among parents about the importance of early and regular eye examinations.

👀 Why Children’s Eye Health Matters
Many vision problems in children go unnoticed because kids often can’t express what they’re experiencing. Issues like refractive errors, squint, lazy eye, and screen-related eye strain can silently affect their learning, behaviour, and overall development.
Regular eye checkups ensure early detection—allowing timely treatment and helping children see, learn, and grow with confidence.

Dedication Message for Senior Citizen's Eye Exercises and Successful Treatment 🙏

At an age when most choose comfort over challenge, our senior citizens have shown extraordinary courage and commitment to their eye health. Their dedication to daily eye exercises and regular follow-ups reminds us that true strength lies not in youth, but in the spirit.

Each small effort — each eye movement, each moment of focus — reflects their determination to maintain independence, enjoy their favorite activities, and truly see the world in all its colors.

We celebrate their successful treatment journeys, which stand as a shining example of what can be achieved with consistent care, expert guidance, and unshakeable willpower.

We salute every senior who continues to inspire us, proving that it’s never too late to prioritize health and never too late to see life more clearly and joyfully.

🌿 A Moment That Touched My Heart & Most Beautiful Gift from My Patient 🌿

In the fast-paced world of medicine, our focus often stays on diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes. But today, I was reminded of something equally important—human connection.

I received this beautiful handwritten letter from a patient who wanted to express their gratitude—not just for the care, but for the time, kindness, and listening ear.
In an era of quick texts and emails, someone took the time to sit down with a pen and paper and say "thank you."
That means more than words can express.

It's moments like these that remind us why we chose this path.
Behind every prescription or examination lies a story, a family, and a soul that trusts us. That trust is sacred.

I don’t share this to highlight myself, but to celebrate the power of empathy and care in healing.
To any medical professional reading this—never underestimate the value of small gestures. They stay in patients’ hearts long after the treatment is over.

Grateful for the opportunity to make a difference. Humbled by this kind gesture.🥰🥰

🙏🏼 Thank you for the trust.

✨ Milestone Moment ✨

Today, I had the privilege of conducting eye examinations for 7 members of the same family — from the youngest child to the wisest grandparent — all in one sitting. Actually the 8th person was my first patient who later brought all 7 members to the clinic for eye check up.🙌

What makes this moment truly special is not just the number, but the trust they placed in me as their child eye specialist. It’s an incredible feeling when one family entrusts the care of all their loved ones to you — a bond built on compassion, care, and consistent effort. 💙👁️‍🗨️

Moments like these remind me why I chose this path. Thank you to all the families who continue to believe in me and allow me to make a difference — one eye exam at a time.

Although I am specialized in Pediatric Optometry, Orthoptics & Vision Therapy, sometimes we also have to become an artist.

Let me tell you a story.

Every morning, before the clinic opened, I would sharpen my colored pencils and sit by the window with a cup of tea, staring at a blank sheet of paper. I wasn't preparing a prescription or reviewing charts — I was drawing. A Farm house one day, rainbow the next, and sometimes Doremon, Pikachu or Parrot sitting on a branch. These weren’t just drawings. They were peace offerings, bribes of joy.

It all started with a pair of identical twins — Siddhant and Vedant. Siddhant had a condition that required regular and focused eye exercises. But Vedant, lively and curious, couldn’t stand still while his brother covered one eye and tried to trace lines or follow dots. He’d interrupt with questions, mimic the exercise, or sometimes just burst into laughter for no reason at all. For a while, the sessions were chaos.

One day, out of desperation, I handed Vedant a silly doodle I had made — a cat flying a balloon. His eyes lit up. He grabbed the picture, stared at it, and then ran to the corner to color it in. For ten whole minutes, Vedant did his exercises in peace.

And just like that, a routine was born. Every day, I would create a new drawing — something imaginative and fun — and hand it to Vedant before the session began. He became my art critic and biggest fan. “Tomorrow, can you draw a dinosaur with glasses?” he’d ask. I’d nod, already planning how to fit spectacles on a T-Rex.

With time, Sidhhant’s eyes got stronger. And with time, I rediscovered something too — the magic of imagination, the healing power of art, and the quiet heroism of a child’s love for his brother.

So yes, I’m a specialist by profession, but thanks to two spirited boys, I’ve also learned to be an artist — one doodle at a time.

Sometimes, healing a child & Family requires more than medicine — it takes creativity, empathy, and understanding. When we step beyond our roles and meet children in their world, even small acts of imagination can create harmony, foster cooperation, and make the path to recovery joyful 🥰

During current weather (hot temperature) in India, now a days I am finding common eye problems at my clinic include dry eyes, conjunctivitis (pink eye), and sties. These issues can arise due to dehydration, high temperatures, and increased exposure to allergens and ultraviolet radiation. Let's understand the reason behind it:
Dry Eyes:
High temperatures can reduce tear production, leading to dryness, irritation, and a gritty feeling.
Conjunctivitis:
This is a common eye infection, often called "pink eye," that can spread easily.
Sties:
These are small, painful, red lumps that develop at the base of the eyelashes or under the eyelid, often caused by heat exposure.
Precautions to avoid such conditions:
Wear UV-Protective Sunglasses, Avoid Direct Airflow, Use Lubricating Eye Drops Frequently, apply a Cold Compress, Stay Hydrated, use a Portable Humidifier (if indoors with AC), Wear a Wide-Brim Hat, Clean Eyelids Daily.

28/04/2025

Blunt ocular trauma caused by getting hit by someone's head during sports. Fortunately, his eye sight is normal, no retinal detachment, no hyphema (blood inside an eye) but IOP (Eye pressure) was little raised due to hematoma (swelling in periorbital region which was controlled with medication.
So now let's understand it with little more detail.
Basically, ocular blunt trauma gives a strong, non-penetrating impact to the eye area. Direct impact from a hard surface (like someone's forehead or skull) compresses the eye and surrounding structures and the force can cause both anterior (front) & posterior (back) eye injuries, as well as damage to the orbital bones.
Possible injuries are eye lid injury, orbital fracture, hyphema, lens dislocation, traumatic mydriasis, vitreous hm'g and globe rupture.
Symptoms to watch for Blurry or double vision, Pain in or around the eye, Floaters or flashes of light, Vision loss (partial or complete), Swelling, bruising, bleeding, Inability to move the eye normally and Sunken eye (enophthalmos) or bulging eye (proptosis)
Urgent management will be require in such condition.

Take home message:
Even if it seems minor at first, blunt trauma can cause hidden serious injuries. A thorough eye exam is always recommended after getting hit in the eye like that.
