Govt. Secondary School Pakkigaon, under Soreng District, would like to express sincere gratitude to Katalytic Educational foundation and Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim for the CMMP Assessment for evaluating the overall academic performance of class- X student and institutional effectiveness for the academic session 2025-2026.
The foundation provided School with students learning outcomes and special emphasis was given to the implementation of innovative teaching methods and student engagement.
During the assessment, Govt. Secondary School, Pakkigaon demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The dedication of the teaching staff, active involvement of students and strong leadership of the school administration contributed significantly to the achievement.
For, the academic session 2025-2026, the school recorded an impressive pass percentage of 85%, reflecting consistent academic progress and improved student performance. This achievement further strengthened the school’s overall standing during the CMMP Assessment.
As a result of the excellent performance, the school was awarded a certificate of Recognition by Katalytic Education Foundation for securing a High Overall Score in the CMMP Assessment. This recognition reflects the school’s commitment toward quality education, continuous improvement, and holistic student development.

The Candle Ceremony Programme for the outgoing students of Batch 2025–202S was conducted on 18 April 2025 in a dignified and emotional atmosphere. The programme aimed to bid farewell to the outgoing students and bless them for their future endeavors.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the removal of darfiness and the spread of finowledge and wisdom. This auspicious beginning set a respectful tone for the event.
Following this, a welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Sang Dorjee Tamang, who warmly greeted all guests, teachers, and students. He highlighted the importance of the occasion and extended best wishes to the outgoing batch.
The central part of the programme was the candle lighting ceremony, performed by the outgoing students. This ceremony symbolized the passing of light, finowledge, and values, marfiing their journey ahead in life.
The event was further enriched by various cultural performances, including dance and song presentations by students, teachers as well as B.Ed trainees. These performances added joy and liveliness to the programme and were appreciated by everyone present.
An encouraging speech was then delivered by the Headmaster (HM), who motivated the students to worfi hard, remain disciplined, and uphold the values learned in school.
An outgoing student speech was then presented, where the student expressed gratitude towards the teachers, school, and fellow classmates. The speech reflected on the memorable experiences, learning moments, and emotional bond shared during their school years. It also conveyed appreciation and hope for a bright future ahead.
Last but not the least, a tofien of appreciation was presented to the student who secured the highest percentage in the school. The award was handed over by the respected HM Ma’am, recognizing the student’s hard worfi, dedication, and outstanding academic achievement. This moment served as an inspiration for all students present.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanfis by Master Adwin Rai, expressing gratitude to all and to those who contributed to the successful arrangement of the event.
The programme was smoothly conducted by the Masters of Ceremony, Master Purav Rai and Master Sumit Rai, whose coordination and presentation ensured the success of the event.
Overall, the Candle Ceremony Programme was a memorable and heartfelt occasion, leaving behind cherished memories for the outgoing students and inspiring them for their future journey.

The CBSE Class 10 examination results were declared recently, bringing a sense of pride and achievement to the institution.
This year, students performed commendably with several securing good marks. The top three positions were secured by the following students:
1st Position: Rozan Gurung– 70.4%
2nd Position: Mee Hang S***a – 58.2%
3rd Position: Darshan Rai – 53.2%
Rozan Gurung secured the first position with an impressive score of 70.4%%, showing dedication and consistent hard work throughout the academic session. Mee Hang S***a achieved the second position with 58.2%, followed by Darshan Rai who secured the third position with 53.2%.
The school congratulates all the successful students for their efforts and achievements. The teachers and staff also deserve appreciation for their guidance and support.

Today on 4th April 2026, Government Secondary School, Pakkigaon, observed the "Connect to Mother Earth" programme with a focus on environmental hygiene. The event aimed to involve the internal school community in a direct effort to improve and maintain the cleanliness of the campus. The programme was conducted as a focused cleanliness drive where students and teachers participated actively. The main activity involved cleaning the school surroundings, during which all litter and waste were removed to ensure a tidy environment. The collaborative effort between the teaching staff and the students ensured that the cleaning was thorough and systematic, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility toward the school premises. The initiative concluded successfully with the school grounds and surrounding areas being completely cleared. This activity served as a practical way to observe the "Connect to Mother Earth" programme, leaving the school environment clean and well- maintained through the dedicated efforts of everyone involved.
Right after the short break The Inter-House Debate Competition was successfully conducted today, cantered on the profound theme "Connecting to Mother Earth." This event was organized and facilitated by the B.Ed. Trainees, serving as a platform to encourage environmental consciousness and oratory excellence among students. We extend our sincere gratitude to our respected Headmistress,
Ma’am Manju Tamang, for granting us this valuable opportunity to lead such
an impactful educational initiative. The competition was formally conducted in Nepali, allowing students to express their deep-rooted cultural and ecological perspectives through the beauty of their mother tongue. The competition was structured into two high-spirited sessions where students engaged in formal "Pakshya" (प) and "Bipakshya" (वप) arguments. The sessions were expertly managed by the House Coordinators: Pragya Bhandari, Nim Phintso Bhutia, and Bandana Tamang.
The debate was divided as follows:
• First Session (Red vs. Yellow):
Under the guidance of House Masters Prayatna Thapa (Red House) and Chesang Dolma Tamang (Yellow House), the speakers delivered compelling arguments regarding our daily connection to the environment. After a rigorous round of rebuttals, Red House secured the first position, with Yellow House earning the runner-up spot.
• Second Session (Blue vs. Green):
Supervised by House Masters Christina S***a (Blue House) and Dawa Namgyla Bhutia (Green House), this session focused on long-term ecological sustainability. Blue House emerged as the winner of this round, while Green House took the second position. The discipline and flow of the event were maintained by Prayatna Thapa, who served as the Timekeeper, ensuring each speaker adhered to the formal limits of the debate. The event concluded with an appreciative note to the students for their research and passionate delivery in the Nepali language. For the B.Ed. trainees, this was a significant milestone in our internship, providing us with hands-on experience in event coordination and student mentorship. We are deeply thankful to Ma’am Manju Tamang and the school administration for their constant encouragement. The competition not only sharpened the students' debating skills but also left a lasting impression on the importance of protecting our mother Earth.

The Parents-Teacher-cum-SMC meeting was conducted on 17th March in the school premises. The programme commenced with the offering of khada to the Chairperson by the Headmistress, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a welcome address by Ms. Tina Thapa.
The Headmistress discussed important issues such as NCERT textbooks, inclusive education, CM scholarship, and water scarcity. She urged parents to actively participate in school development.
Mr. Lokesh Pradhan, GT (Maths), shared information about the new textbooks for Class IX and requested parents to complete document correction and submission on time. He also highlighted the importance of biometric updates for students and shared details about the CM mentorship programme.
Mr. Shyam Kumar S***a, PRT, briefly shared insights from his training, focusing on NEP, activity-based learning, proper lesson planning, and competency-based education. He emphasized understanding over rote learning and encouraged cooperation between parents and teachers.
Some of the SMC members also addressed the gathering on school development and highlighted the important role of the SMC in ensuring effective management and progress of the school.
The old SMC was dissolved, and new SMC members were nominated during the meeting. The nomination was carried out with mutual consent, ensuring representation of parents and the community. The newly nominated members are as follows:

DISTRICT LEVEL SCIENCE & MATHEMATICS FAIR

The District Level Science & Mathematics Fair under Bhavishya Bharat was organized in collaboration with the Education Department, Soreng District, as part of the National Science Day celebration. The programme was supported by LTIMindtree Foundation and held at Chakung Science College on 2nd March 2026.
From Pakkigaon Secondary School, two students Diwakar Thapa Manger and Arnav Rai of Class X participated in the event under the guidance of the es**rt teachers Mrs. Bimla Thapa (GT Science) and Mr. Sukden S***a (PRT Language). They presented their model along with many other schools from different blocks of Soreng district.
Although the students did not secure any position in the competition, the experience proved to be very valuable for them. They got the opportunity to observe different innovative models and ideas presented by students from other schools. It helped them to improve their understanding of scientific concepts, creativity, presentation skills, and confidence.
The fair also encouraged interaction among students and teachers, allowing them to exchange ideas and learn new approaches to science and mathematics learning. The event inspired the participants to think more scientifically and develop problem-solving skills.
Overall, the programme was very informative and motivating. The students returned with new knowledge, inspiration, and enthusiasm to participate in similar activities in the future.

Sustainable Lifestyle Exhibition

Students of Govt. Sec. School Pakkigaon actively participated in the Environment Education Programme 2025–26 – Sustainable Lifestyle Exhibition organized by the Forest & Environment Department, Government of Sikkim, at Gangtok.
The school was represented by Class X students Sangita S***a and Priya Chettri, accompanied by es**rt teachers Ganapati Sharma and Basanti Rai. The students showcased eco-friendly ideas and learned about zero-waste initiatives, sustainable practices, and environmental conservation through various activities and interactions.
The school expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Forest & Environment Department for providing this valuable opportunity to the students to enhance their awareness and practical understanding of environmental protection.

The election for the Student Captain Council 2026 at Govt. Secondary School, Pakkigaon was successfully conducted in a democratic and disciplined manner within the school premises. The programme aimed to encourage leadership qualities, responsibility, and active participation among students.
The election process was organized under the guidance of the Headmistress and teaching staff. Students from eligible classes participated enthusiastically, both as candidates and voters.
