India has made history by becoming the first country to land a spacecraft near the south pole of the moon. Chandrayaan-3, which means "mooncraft" in Sanskrit, successfully touched down on the lunar surface on August 23, 2023, after a 40-day journey from Earth. The mission aims to explore the uncharted territory of the moon's south pole, where scientists believe there could be important reserves of water ice and other resources. The lander, named Vikram after the founder of ISRO, carries a rover named Pragyaan, which means "wisdom" in Sanskrit. The rover will roam the lunar surface for two weeks, collecting images and data on the mineral composition and geology of the region. This is a proud moment for India and a giant leap for humanity. Join me in congratulating ISRO and the Chandrayaan-3 team for this remarkable achievement.
