My views were recently featured in The New Indian Express (Kerala edition) on the serious issue of missing migrant children in Kerala.

The report highlights a recurring concern that migrant children arriving in urban hubs, often separated from families, facing language barriers, and entering a system that struggles with inter-state coordination and structured tracking. Migration alone is not the problem. The real gap lies in monitoring, data consolidation, and institutional coordination at the ground level.

This concern is not new to me. In 2023, I filed a detailed representation before the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights pointing out systemic gaps in tracking migrant children and strengthening inter-departmental coordination.

After sustained follow-up, the Commission issued its order in June 2025 directing measures to strengthen the protection framework for migrant children, including improved coordination between Local Self Government Departments and District Child Protection Units (DCPU).

Migration patterns are changing rapidly. Our child protection systems must evolve accordingly through structured coordination, preventive monitoring, and accountability.

Child protection should not begin only after a child goes missing. It must begin with systems that ensure children are never lost in the first place.

Blessed to have darshan at Sree Parassini Kadavu Muthappan Temple, Kannur. 🙏

Situated peacefully on the banks of the Valapattanam River, this sacred temple is a living symbol of Kerala’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Sree Muthappan is revered as a rare divine form representing both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. What makes this temple truly unique is the daily performance of Muthappan Theyyam, where the deity is worshipped in a vibrant, living form rather than a traditional idol.

Another beautiful speciality of this temple is the sacred presence of dogs. According to legend, Muthappan was always accompanied by a dog during his earthly journey. Even today, dogs are considered divine companions here, and they are treated with respect within the temple premises. Its a rare and powerful message of compassion towards all living beings.

The temple is also known for its inclusiveness, welcoming devotees irrespective of caste, creed, or background. In a time where society often speaks about equality, this centuries-old tradition has been quietly practicing it.

During my visit to the Parliament of India, I had the privilege of meeting and interacting with Hon’ble Finance Minister of India Smt Nirmala Sitharaman Ji. Though it was not a formal appointment, she patiently listened to me, conveyed her wishes, and encouraged me. I am truly grateful for the interaction and hoping to meet again soon.

ഫോൺ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടാൽ അക്കാര്യം അറിയിച്ച് പോലീസിൽ ഒരു പരാതി രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യുക എന്നതാണ് ആദ്യത്തെ നടപടി. അതിനുശേഷം സർവീസ് പ്രൊവൈഡറുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഫോണിലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഫോൺ നമ്പറിന്റെ ഡ്യൂപ്ലിക്കറ്റ് നമ്പർ എടുക്കുക. ഫോൺ ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് ഈ നമ്പർ ആവശ്യമാണ്. 24 മണിക്കൂറിൽ തന്നെ ഡ്യൂപ്ലിക്കേറ്റ് സിംകാർഡ് ആക്റ്റിവേറ്റ് ആകുന്നതാണ്.
https://www.ceir.gov.in എന്ന വെബ്‌സൈറ്റ് സന്ദർശിക്കുക. അതിൽ ചുവന്ന നിറത്തിലുള്ള ബട്ടനിൽ Block Stolen/Lost Mobile എന്ന ഓപ്ഷൻ കാണാം. ഇത് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്താൽ ഒരു ഫോം പൂരിപ്പിക്കണം. അതിൽ ഫോൺ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥലം ഏതാണ്, തീയ്യതി, സ്ഥലം, പോലീസ് സ്‌റ്റേഷൻ, പരാതിയുടെ നമ്പർ, പരാതിയുടെപകർപ്പ് എന്നിവ നൽകണം. തുടർന്ന് ഫോണിന്റെ ഉടമയുടെ വ്യക്തിഗത വിവരങ്ങളും തിരിച്ചറിയൽ രേഖയും നല്കി ഫോൺ ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുള്ള അപേക്ഷ സമർപ്പിക്കാം. ശേഷം ഒരു റിക്വസ്റ്റ് ഐഡി നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ലഭിക്കും. ഇതുപയോഗിച്ച് നിങ്ങളുടെ അപേക്ഷയിൽ നടപടിയെടുത്തോ എന്ന് പരിശോധിക്കാം.
24 മണിക്കൂറിൽ തന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ നൽകിയ ഐഎംഇഐ നമ്പർ ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യപ്പെടും. പിന്നീട് ഒരു സിം കാർഡും ആ ഫോണിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയില്ല.
ഫോൺ തിരിച്ചുകിട്ടിയാൽ www.ceir.gov.in വെബ്‌സൈറ്റിലൂടെ തന്നെ ഫോൺ അൺബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യാം. വെബ് സൈറ്റിൽ അതിനായുള്ള ബട്ടണിൽ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്ത് റിക്വസ്റ്റ് ഐഡി നൽകിയതിന് ശേഷം അൺബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യാനുള്ള കാരണം വ്യക്തമാക്കി സബ്മിറ്റ് ചെയ്യാം. അൺബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്ത ഫോണിൽ പിന്നീട് സിംകാർഡ് ഇട്ട് ഉപയോഗിക്കാം.
ഫോണിലെ ഐഎംഇഐ നമ്പറുകൾ എങ്ങനെ കണ്ടെത്താം?
രണ്ട് സിംകാർഡ് സ്ലോട്ടുകളുള്ള ഫോണുകൾക്ക് രണ്ട് ഐഎംഇഐ നമ്പറുകളുണ്ടാവും. ഇത് സാധാരണ ഫോണിന്റെ പാക്കേജിന് പുറത്ത് രേഖപ്പെടുത്താറുണ്ട്. സിം1, സിം2 എന്നിങ്ങനെ വേർതിരിച്ച് അതിൽ കാണാം. പാക്കേജ് ബോക്‌സ് ഇതിനായി സൂക്ഷിക്കണം. ഫോൺ വാങ്ങിയ ഇൻവോയ്‌സിലും ഐഎംഇഐ നമ്പർ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടാവും. ഫോൺ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ഈ നമ്പറുകൾ ഉപകരിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ഇതിനാൽ ഇത് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെയ്ക്കണം.
ഫോണിൽ നിന്ന് * #06 # എന്ന് ഡയൽ ചെയ്താൽ ഐഎംഇഐ നമ്പറുകൾ കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും.
