Haijan Kashmir- A New Hope For Educated Unemployed Youth To earn Livelihood - Needs Facilities and Development.
Budgam, July 14:
Haijan Brenwar, a picturesque and serene location nestled in the lap of nature in District Budgam, is fast emerging as a promising tourist destination. In the wake of restrictions on several popular tourist spots like Yousmarg, and Doodhpathri following recent security concerns, local residents have taken a significant step by bringing Haijan Brenwar into the spotlight as a peaceful and alternative travel retreat.

Blessed with untouched natural beauty, lush meadows, and refreshing springs, Haijan Brenwar offers immense potential to be developed as a full-fledged eco-tourism destination. Local youth, especially the educated but unemployed segment, are hopeful that the rise of Haijan Brenwar can create avenues for sustainable livelihoods through homestays, trekking guides, handicrafts, and traditional food ventures.

However, the biggest hurdle remains the deplorable condition of the road from Hanjura to Brenwar. The damaged and neglected road network is causing immense inconvenience to both tourists and locals, discouraging further footfall in the area. If the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir and the District Administration of Budgam come forward with a strategic development plan, this unexplored gem can become a major contributor to rural tourism and economic revival in the region.

The residents of the area have appealed to the government to prioritize road repair, ensure basic amenities, and recognize Haijan Brenwar as an official tourist destination under the UT tourism circuit.

This timely intervention can not only help diversify Kashmir's tourism landscape but also become a ray of hope for the unemployed youth of Budgam, transforming their dreams into sustainable ventures.

Martyrs of 13th July

The Dogra regime ruled over Kashmir for a hundred years. These hundred years were filled with suffering for the Muslims of the region in every aspect — poverty, misery, forced labor, oppression, tyranny, and unjust interference in religious affairs.

To break free from this oppression, the people of Kashmir launched an organized movement under the leadership of Muhajir-e-Millat (Migrant of the Nation). A guest from a foreign country named Abdul Qadeer delivered a speech in support of the people, and for this act, he was imprisoned.

A verdict was to be announced against Abdul Qadeer in Srinagar’s Central Jail. At that very moment, on the instruction of Muhajir-e-Millat, a huge crowd gathered in front of the jail and began raising slogans.

The Dogra army, without warning or hesitation, opened blind fire and martyred 22 unarmed Muslims.

The bodies were brought to Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid. People kept arriving in large numbers, gathering at the mosque, and preparations for the funeral began.

Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, who at the time was the soul and spirit of this movement, also reached the Jamia Masjid. On his way, he encountered Muhajir-e-Millat, who was being taken away by the Dogra army. Muhajir-e-Millat said to Sheikh Abdullah, "Take charge inside the mosque."

Sheikh Abdullah entered the mosque, and upon witnessing the situation, he wept bitterly and embraced a wounded man. That injured man said to Sheikh Abdullah, "We have done all that we could — now the responsibility is yours." With these words, the wounded man departed from this world.

Surely, Sheikh Abdullah soon forgot that cry of pain and, lured by this lowly world and the temptation of wealth and power, treated the dying man's final words as mere noise — ultimately submitting himself before Indira Gandhi.

May Allah forgive these martyrs and elevate their ranks. Ameen.

*Enforcement Drive Conducted at Chadoora Main Town Under COTPA-2003 and Food Safety Act*

Chadoora, July 10:
An extensive enforcement drive was carried out today in Chadoora Main Town under the provisions of the COTPA-2003 (Ci******es and Other To***co Products Act) and the Food Safety and Standards Act to monitor and regulate public health concerns related to to***co use and food hygiene.
*The drive was led by Mr. Tawseef Amin, District Consultant, Health Services Budgam, accompanied by Mr. Javaid Hashmi from the Food Safety Department Budgam and Sub Inspector Mr. Goverdhan Singh from Police Station Chadoora.*
*The main objective of the inspection was to ensure strict enforcement of the ban on sale of to***co products to minors and prohibition of to***co sales in and around educational institutions and coaching centres. The team carried out surprise checks at various shops and vendors across the town, issuing necessary warnings and advisories wherever violations were found.*
*The enforcement team also emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitary conditions in food establishments, particularly meat shops, chicken shops, and restaurants. Traders were sensitized on food safety standards and were directed to comply with health regulations to ensure public well-being.*

*Speaking on the occasion, BMO Chadoora and District Consultant Health Services Budgam Mr. Tawseef Amin jointly stated that such drives will be conducted regularly in the future to safeguard the health of the public, especially the youth, from harmful practices and to promote a cleaner, healthier environment.*
The local public appreciated the initiative and urged authorities to continue such proactive measures in the interest of public safety and health.

Gratbal Chadoora (Ward 7 & 8) Residents Protest Against MC Chadoora's Negligence

Gratbal Chadoora, 8 July 2025 — The residents of Ward 7 and 8 in Gratbal Mohalla held a strong protest today against the Municipal Committee (MC) Chadoora, expressing deep resentment over the failure to provide even basic civic amenities.

Despite repeated pleas to the MC Chadoora and the Executive Officer (EO), no concrete action has been taken. Residents allege that the MC has completely ignored the long-pending demands including macadamisation of roads, installation of street lights, and proper drainage systems.

The aggrieved public questioned the competence of MC Chadoora and have now appealed to the district administration and Hon’ble MLA Chadoora to immediately intervene and resolve the civic issues of the area.

The residents warned that if their concerns continue to be neglected, they will intensify their protests in the coming days.
