Getting the reverb signal right can be tricky sometimes. Read ahead to know more about how you can experiment with it

1. SENDING AN EFFECTED VOCAL SIGNAL TO A REVERB:

Try using something different than the dry lead vocals(like an octave down or up) and send it to a reverb track. This way, you're treating the reverb in an totally new way with the goal of creating more space. Creating more space between the reverb and the dry signal will help the dry vocal stand out further.

2. THE ABBEY ROAD TRICK:

Using high and low pass filters (roughly 600 Hz and 10kHz) on the reverb signal can be a good starting point to remove some muddiness. For vocal reverb, you can even try coming down to 7kHz or lower depending on your taste and the requirements of the track.

3. USING 2 MONO REVERBS:

By creating 2 aux tracks and loading a different reverb on each (let's say plate and hall), you can pan each channel left and right to create width on the sides. Don't be shy about using multiple spaces to get the sound you want.

4. USING REVERSE REVERB:

Reverse reverb takes the tail of any instrument and reverses it. It's usually coupled with the original unreversed recording playing as well. Reverse reverb is a really great way to transition into a big chorus, for example.

Stay tuned for more updates!
