'Put your mother first before your wife '.Evang.Ebuka Obi.
I listened to the sermon where Ebuka admonished his congregations to put their mother first before their wife.When I went down to the comment section where people were reacting to the post and it was really unfortunate with the kinds of comments that the posts elicited from netizens.
A vast majority of the critics are women who are either mothers or aspiring mothers.why I am shocked at their negative comments is because I did not see anything wrong with his assertions.because he did not discouraged husband's from loving their wife or not to take care of their wife.But he said put your mother first which is beyond any reasonable doubt the right thing to say.
Come to think of it.every wife is a mother and if in the course of time your children are treating you as an alien because of their wife.how will you feel? I feel pity for some men who treat their mother as alien simply because of their wife.they are too committed to their wife that their mother is not even their a priority to them.some who manage to give their mothers once in a while are giving the debris of what they give to their wife.80 percent of men did not take care of their parents and their parents died out of hunger and negligence by their sons.most men love their wife so much that they forget that without their mother ,they will not be in existence to love.so many men use their wife and children responsibility as an excuse for not taking care of their mother as if their mother is not their responsibility.
The worst part of it is that these men are not getting the love back .the love they are giving to their wife.most women don't love their husband the way their husband love them and they don't care about that.
In as much as there are women who have made great sacrifices to their husbands such as being the financial pillars of the family, donating their kidneys to their husband.but these women are few to reckon on. The love of mother to their children outweighed the love of wives to their husband. So many women have poisoned their husband in order to pave way for them for extramarital relationship.
I wonder why nobody even take cognizance of the expository he made that so many women have approached him to pray for the death of their husband.can a mother pray for the death of their son?.
Even if you are not caring about your mother ,she still cares about you.but fail to care about your wife to see if she will still regard you.
My own is that if I get married tommorow,I will love my wife only if she loves me .if she doesn't love me the way I love her I will end the marriage.But as for my mother,she is forever in my heart and no woman can make me alienate from my mother.
Conclusion.Love your wife but put your mother first.let us not also forget that base on the normal life expectancy, your mother is expected to go first before your wife.so why not amass her with all the caring you have to give her for the short time she still be with you on this earth.
