Though the film wasn't a blockbuster, I would have loved if any reviewer saw the small detailing that was there in the movie. Let me try and recollect one such trivia about the title
Oy!
Ofcourse it was inspired from Maniratnam movies where the girl calls out oy! and I had first suggested the title for the film Parugu. Where the lead guy is kept captive in the girl's house and the girl keeps
coming to the window of the shed, calling out and talking to him.
Then when I was writing my own script, I wanted Sandhya to call out to Uday by this word Oy! which is very common in many Telugu households. Besides this, if you observe, Uday's love story with Sandhya
starts on his birthday Jan1st 2007, his father dies during Sankranthi (kites in the sky), Sandhya talks to roses saying everyone go after them on Valentine's Day, there is a Holi sequence, friend's kids come home for summer vacation, Vinayaka chavithi on the
ship, a scene during Christmas and Uday takes Sandhya to a place where it drizzles on Dec 31st. Then Sandhya dies on Jan 1st 2008 and Uday stops celebrating his birthday. So Uday's first love existed for exactly a year.
