On 16/12/25 the Annual Day cm Prize Day–2025 of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Tashiding, Gyalshing District, Sikkim, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school premises.

The Chief Guest of the day was Shri Jolly Wangyal Lassopa, Land Doner, whose gracious presence added dignity to the occasion. The programme began with the arrival of dignitaries, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and offering of khadas. Shri Deependra Pradhan delivered the welcome address.

The event was honoured by the presence of several special guests, including Shri J. B. S***a, Shri Jas Man S***a, Shri K. B. Pradhan, Shri Pema Sonam Bhutia, Shri Deepak Pradhan, Shri Dawa Lepcha (Former Panchayat President), Smt. Geeta Gurung (BDO), Shri R. S. Bhutia (SMC Chairman), Shri C. L. Sharma, Shri N. S. Bista, Shri K. B. Bista, Smt. Odila Sada, Shri Birendra Gurung (Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat Member), Hon’ble Panchayat President Tashiding GPU, SMC Members and officials from the Education Department, Chongrang BAC.

Colourful cultural performances including Bhutia, Lepcha, Nepali, Limboo and Primary Section dances, along with performances by hostel girls and school staff, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the state. The Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the school’s achievements. Meritorious students of Class X and XII, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, were felicitated.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, followed by prize distribution, a vote of thanks by Shri K. B. Chettri, and lunch. The event was a grand success and a memorable celebration for all.

The Eco Club of our school proudly announces the participation of its members in the Exhibition Competition on Sustainable Lifestyle, organised by the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Sikkim, held at Jorethang Community Hall on 11 December 2025.

Our representatives, Arpana Chettri (Class XI Science) and Tencho Lepcha (Class XI Arts), enthusiastically took part in the exhibition, showcasing their creativity and dedication toward promoting sustainable living. They were escorted by our Eco Green Teacher, Miss Shobha Gurung, whose guidance played a key role in the success of the event.

The exhibit presented by our students featured a collection of eco-friendly bamboo products, including:

Bamboo Earrings

Bamboo Pen

Bamboo Bookmark

Fancy Safety Pins

These innovative and environmentally conscious products received overwhelming appreciation.
We are pleased to announce that our team was selected as one of the Best Exhibits of the competition, acknowledging their hard work, creativity, and commitment to sustainability.

It is also a great honour for us to share that our Eco Club has been selected for the State-Level Exhibition, scheduled to be held in February 2026 at Gangtok. This achievement marks a significant milestone and inspires us to continue promoting eco-friendly initiatives.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Forest and Environment Department for providing us with this wonderful platform and opportunity. We also express our sincere gratitude to Miss Usha S***a (GT Arts) for her constant support, valuable ideas, and encouragement throughout the preparation.

On behalf of the Government Senior Secondary School Tashiding we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Sir Rajen Pradhan, Senior Programme Officer and the entire team of the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Sikkim, for their generous support and dedication towards environmental education.

As part of the Environment Education Programme promoting Green Energy, the department provided our Class 10 students with 33 solar lamps. This thoughtful initiative has not only equipped our students with a valuable and sustainable learning resource but has also inspired them to adopt cleaner and more eco-friendly energy practices in their daily lives.

The distribution of solar lamps serves as a meaningful step towards fostering environmental awareness among young learners. It reinforces the importance of renewable energy and encourages students to become responsible stewards of the environment. Such efforts play a crucial role in shaping a greener, more sustainable future for Sikkim.

Our students have made us extremely proud by winning 3 Silver Medals in the State Level School Games 2025 under the Under-16 (Boys & Girls) category.

The event was organised by the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, and was held from 15th to 17th November 2025 at Gangtok, Sikkim.

✨ Proud Moment for Our School! ✨

Our talented students Anjalika Tamang (Class VII) and Sanskriti Tamang (Class X) enthusiastically participated in the State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2025 held at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok.

Though they couldn’t make it to the national level, we are extremely proud to share that Sanskriti Tamang secured a place among the Top 10 in the state and received an Appreciation Prize of ₹7,500/- in the Senior Category. 🎨🏆
