Every story has a beginning.

Before the films, before the production company, before the shoots and the awards, there was faith.

In this first video, I share the story behind Mahakaal Productions, why I chose this name, and the unexpected ways spirituality and filmmaking have intertwined throughout my journey.

From college memories and a line that stayed with me for years, to discovering Shiva temples before some of the most important shoots of my career, this isn't a story about coincidence.

It's a story about faith, surrender, and finding stillness amidst uncertainty.

This is where the journey begins.

Wetlands protect us from floods, cyclones, and climate disasters, while supporting livelihoods and rich biodiversity. Yet, their importance often goes unseen.

On 28th November in New Delhi, MoEFCC and GIZ hosted a workshop on the Indo-German Wetlands Management Project, bringing together experts from the German Embassy, state forest departments, and CSR leaders to discuss the future of wetland and peatland conservation.

We are proud that our Creative Director, Sarthak Chawla, was among the attendees, and that his film Biodiversity & Beyond: The Story of Point Calimere was screened to highlight the significance of this vital ecosystem.

Grateful to GIZ and MoEFCC for this opportunity. Let’s continue working together to protect our wetlands.

We are thrilled to announce that "Biodiversity and Beyond: The Story of Point Calimere" was featured at the 12th CMS VATAVARAN International Film Festival!

This film, made in collaboration with GIZ, sheds light on the rich biodiversity and the dedicated conservation efforts at the Point Calimere Wetlands.

Our founder and creative director Chawla, was honoured to participate in a panel discussion with other leading filmmakers, sharing his insights and discussing the importance of wildlife storytelling and his experience in making this documentary.

Often, our work takes us to places where we get to experience nature in its full glory. One such project was documenting the marvels of Point Calimere Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Going out there and capturing an array of wildlife was definitely a sublime experience professionally and personally.
