Over the past few decades, I have noticed these tendencies. Young people from rural towns move to cities for school, then look for work and settle down in order to give their kids a better future. Once employed, they find it challenging to leave the urban environment. it becomes a life-long trap.
These migrating children eventually take their parents with them and sell the ancestral properties in rural areas, or after the parents pass away, the property remains in ruins because urbanized offspring either lack the time or motivation to care for it, or both.
Although I disagree with many of Mahatma Gandhi's opinions, I do agree with his tremendous desire to help rural areas.
Migration to cities can be reduced and the loss of rural areasтАФor perhaps more accurately, rural communitiesтАФcan be reduced if rural areas are developed with all metropolitan amenities, including roads, electricity, water, healthcare, education, internet, entertainment, and employment opportunities.
One consequence of urbanization is that many municipal councils lack the infrastructure necessary to handle the ever increasing population, which eventually results in pandemonium.
