Public Advisory from
Wildlife department Bringi valley Range Achabal has issued the following advisory for all areas falling under its jurisdiction to reduce the risk of man-animal conflict incidents in kokernag ,Shangus, Duroo and verinag areas. These precautionary measures are essential to ensure the safety of both local residents and wildlife:

1. Avoid Open Disposal of Food Waste:
Do not throw food waste or leftovers in open areas or along roadsides. Improper waste disposal attracts wild animals such as wild boars, bears, and stray dogs, which in turn may attract leopards in search of prey.

2. Proper Waste Management:
Use designated garbage bins with lids. Ensure regular collection and disposal of waste through local authorities or community arrangements.

3. Clear Overgrown Vegetation:
Remove dense bushes, tall grasses,and thorny shrubs around homes, schools, farms, and walking paths. These areas often serve as hiding spots or resting places for wild animals.

4. Exercise Caution During Morning and Evening Hours:
Be especially vigilant during early morning and late evening hours, when wild animals are more likely to move around. Keep small children indoors or under strict supervision during these hours.
5. Use Outdoor Lighting:
Keep the surroundings of your home well-lit during night hours. Bright lights can discourage wild animals from approaching human settlements.

6. Avoid Walking Alone in Isolated Areas:
Refrain from walking alone, especially near forest edges or areas with thick vegetation.

7. Report Wild Animal Sightings Immediately:
In case of any wild animal sighting, inform the Wildlife department official. Do not attempt to chase or harm the animal.

These steps are aimed at promoting safe coexistence between humans and wildlife. Public cooperation is vital in maintaining peace and safety in wildlife-prone areas.

DGP J&K visits Kulgam; holds operational review

Kulgam, August 01: Director General of Police, Shri Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone, Sh VK Birdi, visited Kulgam, to assess the security situation and held an operational review with GOC Victor Force and other officers of J&K Police and Army.

At the onset of the meeting, SSP Kulgam made a detailed presentation, on operational preparedness and ongoing operations.

During the review, the DGP directed the officers to analyze and reassess the existing strategies and recaliberate the op offensive to neutralise Pakistani terrorists.

The DGP, thereafter, toured the general area of DH Pora, Devsar and Kund .

CMO Kulgam Directs Door-to-Door Registration for Left-Out Beneficiaries Under PMJAY Scheme

KULGAM, JULY 29:In a significant move to ensure complete coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam has directed all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) to initiate a door-to-door registration drive for left-out eligible beneficiaries.

According to an official communication issued by the CMO's office, the exercise aims to achieve full saturation under the Golden Card scheme. BMOs have been instructed to collaborate closely with Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and CSC operators to carry out the registration of pending beneficiaries in their respective blocks.

The letter emphasizes that the registration must be carried out in "mission mode" and completed within 15 days from the issuance date. It also highlights the need to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left unregistered.

The CMO has also directed that the entire process be closely monitored and that a detailed Action Taken Report be submitted upon completion of the registration drive.

Additionally, the District Coordinator CSC Kulgam has been asked to instruct all VLEs to coordinate with ASHA workers in their respective villages to assist in the door-to-door registration process.

This initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to provide health insurance coverage to all eligible families under the AB-PMJAY scheme.

Anantnag Police Seized 16 Kgs of Poppy Straw in Dooru Narcotics Operation

Anantnag, July 28:Acting on a credible input regarding illegal narcotics activity, Anantnag Police achieved a significant breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking.

A police team from Police Station Dooru, led by the SHO Dooru and accompanied by the Executive Magistrate Dooru, conducted a well-coordinated search operation in village Shangran under the close supervision of senior officers.

During the operation, the team searched the residence of one Ghulam Nabi Dar, son of Abdul Salam Dar, resident of Shangran, and recovered 16 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in three plastic buckets. The contraband was seized and sealed on the spot in the presence of the Executive Magistrate.

In this connection, FIR No. 56/2025 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dooru, and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and network behind the illegal trade.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of Anantnag Police to eradicating the menace of drugs and ensuring a safer, drug-free society. The public is once again urged to extend cooperation by sharing any information related to narcotics or other unlawful activities. Identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

Property Worth Worth ₹ 55 Lakhs Of A Drug Peddler Attached Under the NDPS Act In Srinagar: Police

Srinagar, July 25: Police on Friday said that in yet another significant move to combat the Drug menace and dismantle the infrastructure supporting narcotics trafficking, Srinagar Police has attached a residential property worth approximately Rs.55 Lakhs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the attached property comprises a two-storeyed residential house constructed on 13.5 marlas of land bearing khasra No. 2865, valued at approximately ₹ 55 lakhs, belonging to Khazir Mohammad Tiploo
S/o Late Abdul Ahad Tiploo
R/o Dawood Colony Anchaar.

The action pertains to
Case FIR No. 85/2024
U/S 8/20, 21, 22 NDPS Act of Police Station Soura, in which the son of the owner of the attached property namely Hilal Ahmad Tiploo
R/o Dawood Colony, Anchaar, Soura, has been found to be involved as the accused person.

The accused person is a notorious drug peddler and he has a history of involvement in drug peddling, primarily targeting local youth, thereby posing a grave threat to public health and safety.

Investigations have revealed the aforementioned property was acquired through proceeds from illicit drug trafficking.
Acting under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, Srinagar Police formally seized and attached the immovable property as per the due legal process.
The property cannot be sold, transferred, or otherwise dealt with without prior approval from the competent authority.

This development marks a decisive step in the broader strategy of Jammu & Kashmir Police to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks.
Jammu and Kashmir Police continues to prioritize a zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related crimes, aiming to safeguard the community, especially its vulnerable youth, from the dangers of substance abuse.

J&K ACB traps & arrests Ashok Kumar, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Batote for demanding & accepting bribe of ₹40,000

Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau, received a complaint alleging therein that the complainant want to register his name on ancestral land after the death of his father. In this regard, complainant applied for registration of virasati intiqal on ancestral land and the concerned Patwari namely Ashok Kumar has demanded bribe of ₹50,000 for registration of Virasati Intiqal and after negotiation, he agreed on ₹40,000.

Since the complainant didn’t want to pay bribe and he approached ACB for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law. On receipt of complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which confirms the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned. Accordingly, case FIR No.04/2025 U/S 7 of PC Act 1988 (as amended in 2018) against accused public servant was registered at PS ACB Doda and investigation taken-up.

During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted Rank Officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused Patwari was caught red handed while demanding and accepting of bribe ₹40,000 from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses.

The accused Patwari was arrested on spot by the ACB team after following the due procedure of law. The bribe money was also recovered in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team.

Further investigation of the instant case is going on.

ACB traps and arrests Chuni Lal, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Dansal, Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe

Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that public servant namely Chuni Lal, Patwari Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for providing demarcation report.

The accused Chuni Lal, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded the bribe amounting to ₹1,00,000 from the complainant for providing report of demarcation and after negotiation, the accused Chuni Lal has agreed to receive ₹75,000 and demanded 1st installment of ₹25,000 as bribe. However, the complainant could not arrange ₹25,000 as 1st installment and instead he managed to arrange ₹20, 000 only. Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay bribe he approached ACB for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law.

On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up.

During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted rank officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ₹20,000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team.

Moreover, searches were also conducted in the office and in-laws house of the accused in presence of independent witnesses and Magistrates.

Further investigation of the instant case is going on.
