What was meant to be a day of family celebration turned into a chilling crime scene in Ajmer. Rohit Saini, BJP Mandal general secretary from Udaipur Kalan, has confessed to killing his wife Sanju Saini on Raksha Bandhan, August 10.
The couple was returning from Sanju’s parental home in Ralawata village when Rohit claimed they were attacked by motorcycle-borne robbers who fatally assaulted his wife and stole valuables. He rushed her to a hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
Police Suspicion and Breakthrough
Investigators quickly noticed contradictions in Rohit’s statement:
He had no injury marks despite claiming a violent robbery.
Sanju’s mangalsutra remained intact — unusual in a theft.
Background checks revealed ongoing marital disputes and Rohit’s alleged extramarital affair.
Confronted with evidence, Rohit admitted that the murder was premeditated, planned five days earlier with the help of his friend Ravi Meghwal and a 15-year-old accomplice. The trio staged the crime to appear as a roadside robbery.
