The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of West Garo Hills District busted drug peddlers and seized contraband substances:
On 20-09-2025, acting on reliable input, the ANTF of West Garo Hills District conducted naka checking at Kokaimari, under Phulbari PS and intercepted a Maruti Celerio car bearing Regd. No. AS01FQ 8148 coming from Guwahati side. On search of the said vehicle 5 (five) soap cases containing suspected he**in weighing 53.67 gms were recovered from beneath the seat of one of the occupants.
The occupants were identified as Shri Noboruddin (Driver), Shri Sahidur Islam, Shri Nazim Uddin Laskar, Smt. Nurjan Bibi Laskar and a minor child. From preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that the contraband was collected at Guwahati ISBT and was meant to be delivered to one Fazadur of Vill. Gomaijhora of West Garo Hills District.
Accordingly, the suspected drugs, the vehicle and other belongings were seized observing all legal formalities. (1) Shri Sahidur Islam aged 32 yrs S/o (L) Fozol Sheikh R/o Vill. Pushkinipara, P.O. Bholarbhita, P.S. Phulbari, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya and (2) Shri Nazim Uddin Laskar aged 39 yrs S/o (L) Namar Ali Laskar have been arrested, and a case vide Phulbari PS No. 40/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered.
The arrested accused have been forwarded to the Hon’ble Court on 21.09.2025 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
