Former MLA Nani Ribia has voiced strong objections regarding the conduct of the 3rd General Conference cm Election of Tanii Supuñ Dukuñ (TSD).In his statement, Ribia emphasized that since TSD's inception, its elections had remained free from political interference. "TSD was kept away from politics and above politics," he remarked, expressing concern over the recent developments. He specifically objected to the alleged mistreatment of outgoing TSD President Hage K. Salla during the conference on February 15. Additionally, Ribia revealed his surprise at finding his name included in the list of presidential candidates at the last moment. "According to the Search Committee’s report, my name was not in the candidate list. However, it was suddenly added on the evening of February 15," he stated.Ribia further clarified that he remains an active politician and will continue in politics until 2029. He urged the people not to vote for him, as he did not intend to contest the TSD presidency.Holding both the Governing Body and the Search Committee for procedural lapses in the election, he pointed out that the confidentiality of the candidate list was compromised, leading to confusion. "The Search Committee was supposed to keep the names confidential, but that was not maintained," he asserted.Despite his objections, Ribia advised the newly elected members to uphold the sanctity of TSD and work in the best interest of the community.
