في خطوة تهدف إلى تمكين المنظمات المحلية وتعزيز قدراتها الإدارية، نظّم مركز خدمات المجتمع المدني في الموصل ورشة تدريبية تخصصية حول "إدارة المشاريع، بمشاركة مجموعة من ممثلي المنظمات الفاعلة في محافظة نينوى.
الورشة ركزت على مفاهيم الإدارة الحديثة، وتخطيط المشاريع، وآليات التنفيذ والمتابعة، بما يضمن تحسين جودة العمل وزيادة أثر المشاريع المجتمعية في المنطقة.
هذه الورشة التدريبية تندرج ضمن رؤية المركز في دعم بيئة مدنية أكثر احترافاً، وتوفير أدوات عملية تساهم في نهضة المجتمع المدني في نينوى.

- Towards More Effective Projects! A Training Workshop to Enhance the Skills of Organizations in Nineveh
As part of an effort to empower local NGOs and strengthen their administrative capacities, the Civil Society Service Center in Mosul organized a specialized training workshop on "Project Management", with the participation of representatives from active organizations across Nineveh Province.
The workshop focused on modern management concepts, project planning, implementation mechanisms, and follow-up processes, all aimed at improving work quality and increasing the impact of community projects in the region.
This training workshop is part of the Center’s broader vision to foster a more professional civil environment and to provide practical tools that contribute to the advancement of civil society in Nineveh.
The works with Al Mesalla to empower local CSOs in Iraq through TATWEER project funded by the European Union and in partnership with local NGOs (Alnajah Center for Training&Development in Basra and Shakoufyan Organization in Anbar).

في اليوم العالمي للبيئة الذي يُذكّرنا بأهمية حماية كوكبنا، نُسلّط الضوء على الواقع البيئي المتدهور في العراق، حيث تتزايد التحديات البيئية بشكل يهدد الاستقرار والسلام الاجتماعي
- الجفاف وندرة المياه
العراق يواجه أزمة مائية خانقة نتيجة انخفاض مناسيب الأنهار، وتغير المناخ، وتراجع التساقطات المطرية. هذه الأزمة لا تهدد فقط الأمن الغذائي، بل تؤثر على الحياة اليومية للملايين.
- العواصف الترابية وتدهور الغطاء النباتي
ازدياد عدد العواصف الترابية، نتيجة التصحر وغياب التشجير، بات مشهداً معتاداً في أغلب المحافظات، ما يؤثر سلباً على الصحة العامة ويقيد الحركة والتنقل.
- انهيار الزراعة وهجرة الريف
قلة المياه وارتفاع التكاليف دفعت كثيراً من المزارعين لترك أراضيهم، فتوقفت الزراعة في مناطق واسعة. هذا النزوح البيئي نحو المدن خلق ضغطاً سكانياً واقتصادياً على الحواضر، ووسع الفجوة بين الريف والمدينة.
- التهديد للتماسك الاجتماعي والسلام
في ظل هذه التحديات، يزداد خطر النزاعات على الموارد، ويضعف النسيج الاجتماعي، خصوصاً في المجتمعات الهشة. البيئة لم تعد قضية ثانوية، بل أصبحت محوراً أساسياً في استقرار العراق.
- دعوة للعمل المشترك
تؤمن منظمة أن حماية البيئة هي خطوة أساسية نحو بناء مجتمعات أكثر عدلاً وسلاماً. نعمل جنباً إلى جنب مع شركائنا لتعزيز الوعي البيئي، وتقديم حلول مستدامة، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية من مواجهة آثار التغير المناخي.
On World Environment Day, which reminds us of the importance of protecting our planet, we shed light on the deteriorating environmental reality in Iraq, where growing environmental challenges threaten stability and social peace:

- Drought and Water Scarcity
Iraq is facing a crippling water crisis due to declining river levels, climate change, and reduced rainfall. This crisis not only endangers food security but also disrupts the daily lives of millions.
- Dust Storms and Vegetation Degradation
The increasing frequency of dust storms caused by desertification and the absence of reforestation has become a common occurrence in most provinces, adversely affecting public health and restricting movement and transportation.
- Collapse of Agriculture and Rural Migration
Water shortages and rising production costs have forced many farmers to abandon their land, bringing agriculture in vast regions to a standstill. This environmentally driven migration toward cities has created demographic and economic pressures on urban centers and widened the gap between rural and urban areas.
- Threat to Social Cohesion and Peace
In light of these challenges, the risk of resource-based conflicts is growing, weakening the social fabric especially within fragile communities. The environment is no longer a secondary concern but has become a central factor in Iraq’s stability.

- Call for Collective Action
believes that protecting the environment is a fundamental step toward building more just and peaceful societies. We work hand in hand with our partners to raise environmental awareness, deliver sustainable solutions, and empower local communities to confront the impacts of climate change.

- جلسة تدريبية حول إدارة الموارد البشرية لمنظمات المجتمع المدني في الموصل!
نظّم مركز خدمات المجتمع المدني في مدينة الموصل جلسة تدريبية متخصصة في إدارة الموارد البشرية، استهدفت عدداً من المنظمات المحلية العاملة على أرض المدينة.
هدفت الورشة إلى تعزيز قدرات الكوادر البشرية داخل هذه المنظمات، من خلال استعراض أفضل الممارسات وآليات تخطيط وتطوير الموارد البشرية بما يتناسب مع احتياجات المجتمع المحلي في الموصل.

- Training Session on Human Resources Management for Civil Society Organizations in Mosul!
The Civil Society Services Center in Mosul organized a specialized training session on human resources management, targeting several local NGOs operating within the city.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacities of human resources within these organizations by presenting best practices and mechanisms for planning and developing human resources in alignment with the needs of the local community in Mosul.
The works with Al Mesalla to empower local CSOs in Iraq through TATWEER project funded by the European Union and in partnership with local NGOs (Alnajah Center for Training&Development in Basra and Shakoufyan Organization in Anbar).

- A Closing that Paves the Way for a Stronger Future: UPP Concludes the “Tatweer 2” Project in Baghdad

The wrapped up the activities of the “Tatweer 2” project in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in the presence of civil-society representatives from across Iraq’s governorates, alongside delegates from the European Union Delegation to Iraq and the DNGO.
The event opened with speeches by: The Country Director of UPP, The Representative of the European Union Delegation to Iraq, A Representative of the Directorate of Non-Governmental Organizations and The Project manager of Tatweer2, This was followed by a detailed presentation of the achievements of “Tatweer 2,” then by showcase presentations from each of the sub-project implementing partners funded under the programme. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants, and the closing discussion centred on the challenges faced by Iraqi civil-society organizations in registering their staff for social security and income tax.
It is worth noting that the “Tatweer 2” project is implemented by UPP with funding from the European Union, in partnership with Al-Mesalla Organization for Human Resource Development and Al-Najah Center for Training and Development in Basra and Shakoufyan Organization in Anbar.

- زيارة ميدانية لطلاب التقنية الشمالية لتعزيز التعاون المجتمعي!

نظّم برنامج متطوّعي منظمة بالتعاون مع غرفة صناعة نينوى رحلة ميدانية مخصّصة لمجموعة متميزة من طلبة الجامعة التقنية الشمالية، تخلّلتها مسابقات تفاعلية وفعاليات مجتمعية تهدف إلى ترسيخ مفاهيم العمل الجماعي وتوثيق روابط الشراكة بين مؤسسات المجتمع المدني والجهات الحكومية والطلبة. واختتمت الفعالية بتكريم الفائزين والمتميزين من الطلاب وتوزيع الهدايا عليهم، تعزيزاً لروح التنافس الإيجابي ودعم مسيرة التطوّع والتعاون المحلي.
- Field Visit for Northern Technical University Students to Strengthen Community Cooperation
The Volunteers Program, in partnership with the Nineveh Chamber of Industry, organized a dedicated field trip for an outstanding group of Northern Technical University students. The outing featured interactive competitions and community activities designed to instill the principles of teamwork and to strengthen collaborative ties among civil society organizations, government bodies, and the student community. The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the winners and high achievers, who received gifts in recognition of their efforts fostering a spirit of positive competition and supporting the journey of local volunteering and cooperation.

يعلن مشروع متطوعي منظمة بشراكة مع مكتبة أمل عن إطلاق مبادرة جمع الكتب من أجل إرسالها إلى السجناء الناطقين بالعربية في إيطاليا، حيث تعتبر مبادرة "كتُب حرّة - جسر من الكتب عبر البحر الأبيض المتوسط" مبادرة ثقافية تعاونية وتحديًا مبتكرًا للمنطق الأحادي للتعاون الدّولي، كما تجسّد ممارسة فعلية لفكّ الصبغة الاستعمارية عن هذا الأخير كمفهوم وكممارسة. ومن خلال الشراكة بين جهات فاعلة من المجتمع المدني في بلدان متوسطية مختلفة، يسعى مشروع "كتُب حرّة" إلى بناء عالم أكثر إنسانية، وتضامنًا، وأفقية.
تركز المبادرة على محورين متكاملين في تصوّرها. من جهة، تهدف إلى خلق بيئة سجنية أكثر شمولًا، من خلال توفير فرص للقراءة للسجناء الناطقين بالعربية وتقريب الثقافة الأم إليهم، واستخدام الكتب كوسيلة للتحرّر والنقد الذاتي. وفي هذا السياق، تُصبح الكتب ليست فقط وسيلة لتعزيز الحوار الثقافي، بل أيضًا أداة لتحفيز وتمكين السجناء الناطقون بالعربية الذين غالبًا ما يشعرون بالتهميش أو بعدم الاعتراف بهم في الأنشطة المطروحة. فالولوج إلى القراءة والأدب باللغة العربية يعني أيضًا الاعتراف الكامل بإنسانية الفرد وكرامته؛ وهو نقطة انطلاق ضرورية لأي مسار للإدماج وإعادة التأهيل.

- Your Book Is a Prisoner's Dream
(Call for Book Donations)
The volunteer program in partnership with Amal Library, announces the launch of an initiative to collect books to send to Arab prisoners in Italy. The " Kutub Hurra - A Bridge of Books Across the Mediterranean" initiative is a collaborative cultural initiative and an innovative challenge to the unilateral logic of aid. It also embodies a practical decolonization of the concept and practice of international cooperation. Through partnerships between civil society actors in different countries, the " Kutub Hurra" project seeks to build a more humane, more supportive, and more horizontal world.
The initiative focuses on two complementary axes in its conception. On the one hand, it aims to create a more inclusive prison environment by providing reading opportunities for Arabic-speaking prisoners and using books as a means of liberation. In this context, books become not only a means to promote cultural dialogue but also a tool to motivate and empower Arabic-speaking prisoners, who often feel marginalized or unrecognized in the activities offered. Access to reading and literature in Arabic also means full recognition of human dignity and is a necessary starting point for any process of integration and rehabilitation. - البصرة تواجه التحديات البيئية: طاولة مستديرة تبحث تلوث المياه وآفاق الحل!

في إطار جهوده لتعزيز الوعي البيئي وتحفيز الحوار المجتمعي، نظّم مركز خدمات المجتمع المدني في محافظة البصرة طاولة مستديرة بعنوان "التلوث البيئي – تلوث المياه". شارك في الفعالية ممثّلون عن مديرية حماية وتحسين البيئة، إلى جانب عدد من منظمات المجتمع المدني الناشطة في المجال البيئي.
وتناول النقاش أبرز التحديات المرتبطة بتلوث المياه في البصرة، إضافة إلى طرح رؤى وتوصيات مشتركة للحد من آثار هذه الأزمة البيئية التي تمسّ صحة السكان واستدامة الموارد المائية.

- Basra Confronts Environmental Challenges: Roundtable Discusses Water Pollution and Prospects for Solutions!

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise environmental awareness and foster community dialogue, the Civil Society Services Center in Basra organized a roundtable discussion entitled "Environmental Pollution – Water Contamination."
The event brought together representatives from the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Improvement, along with several civil society organizations active in the environmental sector.
The discussion addressed the most pressing challenges related to water pollution in Basra and offered shared insights and recommendations aimed at mitigating the impact of this environmental crisis, which threatens public health and the sustainability of water resources.

- Strategic planning involves analyzing the organization's current situation, assessing its resources, and defining its goals, actions, and activities!
As an essential part of developing the capacity of local NGOs in Iraq, the Civil Society Services Center in Baghdad in cooperation with the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations and in coordination with the Alaghsan Foundation organized a training workshop for a group of local organizations in Baghdad Governorate on “Strategic Planning”. The workshop included the basics and concepts of strategic planning, preparing for strategic planning, determining the time period for preparing the plan, assessing the company's business, defining the mission, vision and key stakeholders, selecting an appropriate plan framework and software for the company, and documenting the strategic plan.
