How the "Full System" Works
A comprehensive radio system connects teams across distance and complex environments:
Staff and Handhelds (Portables): Ground staff, security, or emergency teams use rugged handheld units from leading brands (like Hytera, Motorola, Kenwood, or HYT) for instant push-to-talk (PTT) communication.
The Repeater: As visualized in the coverage diagram, handheld units often have limited direct range, especially when blocked by buildings or terrain. A Repeater (often mounted high on a tower or building) receives weak incoming signals and instantly retransmits them at much higher power, drastically increasing the system's overall range.
The Antenna Tower: The taller the antenna, the better the signal coverage. Communication towers hold the infrastructure—antennas and repeaters—elevated above obstructions, creating the necessary wide-area network for professional DMR, analog, or trunked radio communications.
