Congratulations on the opening of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
Our organisation, the Red Sea Afar Democratic Organisation, warmly congratulates the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, its leadership, government, and people on the official opening and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. This historic project reflects the collective will of the nation to utilise its natural resources for building a better future and pursuing sustainable development.
Our organisation views the dam's operation as Ethiopia’s national achievement that embodies the resilience, unity, and sovereign rights of the Ethiopian people to benefit from their water resources. It serves both current and future generations, boosting Ethiopia's standing in Africa and internationally. We also stress that the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region urgently need joint economic and developmental projects, which are crucial for peace, stability, and fostering cooperation among the region's peoples.
We also express our hope that the Eritrean people will receive their rightful share of development, benefit from their maritime resources, and operate their ports once the current dictatorial regime in Asmara is overthrown and a democratic system is established that prioritises the interests of the people. In conclusion, we extend our wishes for continued progress and prosperity for our neighbouring nation, Ethiopia, and hope that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam becomes a symbol of peace, development, and African unity.
