دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، در آغاز سفر چهارروزه‌اش به اسکاتلند با انتقاد از بحران مهاجرت در اروپا گفت: «یورش وحشتناکی در جریان است که باید متوقف شود.»
او پس از فرود در گلاسگو، با اشاره به مهاجرت غیرقانونی به بریتانیا هشدار داد: «اگر فکری به حال مهاجرت نکنید، دیگر چیزی به نام اروپا باقی نمی‌ماند.»
ترامپ با تمجید از برخی رهبران اروپایی که به گفته او در برابر موج مهاجرت ایستاده‌اند، گفت: «نمی‌خواهم با نام بردن از آن‌ها بقیه را شرمنده کنم، اما این مهاجرت در حال نابود کردن اروپاست.»
رییس‌جمهور آمریکا که مقابله با مهاجرت را محور سیاست‌هایش قرار داده، تاکید کرد: «ماه گذشته حتی یک مهاجر وارد آمریکا نشد.»

رهبران آلمان، فرانسه و بریتانیا در بیانیه‌ای مشترک خواستار آتش‌بس فوری در غزه، آزادی بدون قید و شرط گروگان‌ها، خلع سلاح حماس و آغاز روندی سیاسی برای رسیدن به راه‌حلی دوکشوری شدند.

رهبران سه کشور اروپایی جمعه سوم مرداد با انتشار بیانیه‌ای اعلام کردند: «آتش‌بسِ مورد مذاکره، بهترین فرصت برای بازگرداندن گروگان‌ها، پایان دادن به رنج خانواده‌ها و فراهم کردن امدادرسانی به مردم غزه است».

در این بیانیه همچنین بر ضرورت خلع سلاح کامل حماس و حذف آن از آینده غزه تاکید شده و آمده است: «حماس نباید هیچ نقشی در آینده غزه داشته باشد.»

رهبران این کشورها همچنین بر حمایت از تلاش‌های دیپلماتیک ایالات متحده، قطر و مصر تاکید کردند.
