If you’re visiting Iceland, a glacier tour is one of those things you just have to put on your list.

Whether it’s a glacier hike, ice cave, or something more adventurous like ice climbing, it’s one of the few ways to actually experience Iceland’s glaciers up close.

This one was in Skaftafell, and it genuinely took my breath away. The scale of it and colors feel unreal once you’re standing out there on the ice.

(And if you’re not heading that far east, you can still do glacier hikes on Sólheimajökull.)

This tour with was done really well from start to finish, and I’ve got a discount for you if you’re booking glacier tours with them too.

This was my flight out of Akureyri Airport on the way to Gatwick.

Most people think Keflavík International Airport is the only place you can fly in and out of Iceland. It’s not. ✌🏻

Akureyri is another option, and it can completely change how you plan your trip.

This is especially useful if you’ve already done the full Ring Road.

Instead of starting in Keflavík, you can go straight to North Iceland, rent a car there, and focus on a completely different part of the country.

Less driving. Fewer crowds. A very different experience.

Flights are more limited, but if it lines up, it’s a great way to do Iceland differently.
