THIS was my favorite moment. 🥹

After hours of heavy rain, crazy winds and crossing glacier rivers, we finally made it to the hut completely SOAKED. 🌧️🥾

We were cold, exhausted, and dreaming about getting inside… dreaminggggg

Then the lady at the hut told us we had to wait ONE MORE HOUR while she finished cleaning. 😂

So there we were, sitting in a barn with no heater, still in our wet clothes, waiting.

And somehow… we were laughing. 😂❤️

Out of all the incredible landscapes, mountains and moments on Laugavegur, THIS is the one that became my favorite.

Because adventures aren’t always about the beautiful views or reaching the destination.

Sometimes it’s being cold, wet and absolutely exhausted with the right person beside you… and still finding a reason to laugh. 🥹

I think that’s what makes an adventure unforgettable, not only where you go, but who you get to share the hard moments with. ❤️🥾

My life is a journey ⛰️

I heard this the other from father Michael Schmitz and had me thinking since then…. “Who we become in the process is what either makes it just a story that was ah, it was okay, or makes it a hero’s journey.”

This a really good perspective to help us realize what is the journey we want to live. 🏞️

Day 2 on the Laugavegur Trail 🌧️🥾🇮🇸

We woke up at 4:30am to leave 5:30 AM. Strong winds, nonstop rain, and a very long day ahead of us. 💪🏼🫠

This was one of those days where Iceland reminds you that you don’t get to control the conditions, so instead you just learn to move through them. 🤪 One step at a time,and somehow still amazed by everything around us.

The hard days have a funny way of becoming the ones you remember the most. There

I met robin erler in culinary school many years ago 💕 and our friendship is one of the most beautiful things that chapter of my life gave me.

Over the years, we’ve met again in different places, and two months ago, we decided to hike the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland together. We planned everything during one of our video calls, and somehow, everything worked out perfectly and we were able to reunite once again. 🥹🏔️

I’m so grateful for this adventure; not only because it taught us more about ourselves, but because it strengthened our friendship even more.

I learned so much from you these past few days. I was reminded of how strong, independent, resilient, kind and funny you are. ❤️

I’m looking forward to many more trips, adventures, laughs, and memories together. May God always bless you and your life. ❤️🤩

6. Ropes = best friends 💕
7. Glacier ice 🧊 becasue I love it
