Zum Film O:
Die inneren Konflikte einer zerbrechlichen Seele offenbaren sich, während sie mit persönlichen Dämonen ringt und gleichzeitig ein scheinbar banales Ziel verfolgt, wodurch der tiefgreifende menschliche Kampf innerhalb der Einfachheit des Lebens enthüllt wird. Gelobt als „ein tiefer, kompromissloser Sprung in den Abgrund der selbstzerstörerischen Natur der Menschheit“, feiert O die Kämpfe, die wir im Alltag führen.

Über Rúnar Rúnarsson
Rúnar Rúnarsson wurde in Reykjavik, Island, geboren und schloss 2009 sein Studium an der Dänischen Filmschule ab. Er kehrte nach Island zurück, um seinen ersten Spielfilm VOLCANO (2011) zu drehen. Rúnar ist ein renommierter Drehbuchautor und Regisseur, der für seine früheren Filme rund 90 internationale Auszeichnungen erhalten hat. Sein Film SPARROWS (2015) wurde beim 63. Internationalen Filmfestival von San Sebastián mit der Goldenen Muschel ausgezeichnet. Sein neuester Film WHEN THE LIGHT BREAKS (2024) wurde ausgewählt, um die Sektion „Un Certain Regard“ des Filmfestivals von Cannes zu eröffnen.
