Fimbulfambi is a collaborative project of Áskell Harðarson, Bernharð Þórsson and Þórður Páll Pálsson. Recorded at the iconic Stúdíó Sýrland, Reykjavík, Iceland, in the autumn of 2016. The album documents a series of live sessions, with each track named after the date it was recorded.
Made under the constraint of no sequencing, the album was performed entirely live using electric guitars, bass, synthesisers and drum machines. The result is a collection of raw jams that drift freely, loose in form but rich in feeling.
Sunnudagar gives the feeling of hazy atmospheres carried by analogue textures and warmth at heart. The record draws on the atmospheric language of 90s electronica while retaining the immediacy of live performance that we can all relate to.
