Móatún 7 Home of electronic music 💾 Móatún 7 was founded in 2018 by electronic musican and artist Árni Grétar (Futuregrapher, Dj Dorrit, Karl Marx, etc.)

and specializes in releasing quality electronic music of all sorts. Music which is not directly aimed for the party culture, but can certeinly fit there if the DJ has a creative mind, and is maybe best desribed as music for chilling at home, alone or with a company, and to connect to your innerself. Móa, as label's music is often called by followers, has been described as filling your heart with e

nergy and hope and that you can hear the soul from the artist in the tracks. Huge words, but I back it up myself by welcoming you to listen to the sounds on our moatun7.bandcamp.com ❤️

Imagine something from UK Warp's A.I. series and/or classic Soma 12" (Envoy, Funk D'Void, etc.), Detroit first/second, Rephlex Acid, German sound manipulations, Japanese sound sculptures, which is all blended together with ambient from the coldest part in Iceland. And then you are warm 🔥

All music on the label is curated by Futuregrapher and he makes the artwork as well by his every day 'still life 📸' which he has been working on since 2003. (Yes, there will be a book, but when the dolphin 🐬 with the cape will give us more time

Music is available as digital downloads, or streaming via app, through the music platform Bandcamp (www.bandcamp.com) and there is always an option to purchase limited merch of lathe cut vinyls, compact discs and sometimes cassettes ♾️

All lathe cut vinyls are hand made by Úlfar Jacobsen in Iceland and usually in 30 copies for a release

Compact discs 💿 are made in USA and Tapes are done in Europe. P & P are done by Árni himself and most merch are sent abroad

Label has sold thousands of lathe cut vinyl since the label put out the first 7" - the classic by late great Biogen vs. his soulmate and friend Röskva - and is today a leading force to many listeneres around the world in releasing "Ambient Techno" or "Emotional Techno" ✊🏼

Móatún 7 has on it's vast discography world-renowned artists, such as Yagya, B12, Metamatics, Futuregrapher, Chevron, Myoptik, Dimitar Dodovski, Solipsism, Plaid, G-Prod, Parallel Worlds, Dokun, ReKaB, Future Sound of London (as Yage and Humanoid), Ruxpin, Nike_Vomita, lovetrip, D York, silentwave, Pagaent, Florian Förster, Mint Deluxe and the lovely duo Drøn (to mention a few good names). Always something to ▶️

Móatún 7 is also a home to many of Iceland's finest underground electronic artists, such as Hidden People, Fu Kaisha, Xylic, ThorF, Frank Murder, Andartak, Orand Volante, Mr. Signout, Karl Marx and more 👽

2004 - 2024 is a compilation album that spans 20 years of this project, which was firstly named Intangible until the name change in 2011.

The first tracks were done on a Roland MC-505 Groovebox, which I then started sampling my own stuff and mixing it on music software. From 2009, I started to produce mostly with software, sampling and recordings.

20 years on, this comes as a contemplative point in time, not as an aspiring anthology, but as a showcase of the Augen music, with songs that hold special emotional value and I’m fond of sharing them again with you.

Tracks 1, 2 and 11, previously unreleased

Thanks to Tiago Henriques and Kenneth Kirschner, for authorizing the samples on track 9 and 11, respectively.

Ah, the cladoxylopsid forest landscape of yore! A place so dripping with ancient magic and mystery that even the sun seemed unsure whether to rise or simply pause mid-sky, like a gawking tourist. You’d wander through this preposterous paradise, weaving between the towering calaxial filcoids—plants so magnificently bizarre they looked like they had been designed by an unhinged committee of mushrooms and sea sponges. Their leaves, if you could call them leaves, were more like gossamer umbrellas that offered shade to precisely nothing, because nothing dared live under them. Not after the incident.

The air was thick with the scent of palaeobotanically depauperate delights. What does that mean, you ask? It means that while this place had plants, they were of such an offensively low botanical variety that even the most indiscriminate herbivores would mutter, "Not worth it," and trudge off to find a better extinction event.

Now, the catacoombe. Oh yes, the catacoombe. It wasn’t so much a place as a sensation, a damp, whispering presence that hovered just beneath your feet. Locals (if there had been locals, which there decidedly weren’t) might have told you it was the ventricoule of the Earth itself—a great, churning, grumbling stomach of the world. But of course, who listens to locals that don’t exist?

And let’s not forget the rivers! Oh, those rivers! They didn’t flow, they… loitered. The water, more gelatinous than liquid, often preferred to levitate at a jaunty 30-degree angle. Occasionally, a trilobite would try to navigate these streams only to find itself inexplicably transported three centuries into the future, where it would promptly become a fossil in a museum exhibit nobody visits.

I swear, if you stood still long enough in that landscape, you’d start to feel the cladoxylopsids whispering their secrets to you. And what secrets! Mostly complaints about the humidity and the calaxial filcoid next door who still hadn’t returned the spores it borrowed.

Ah, but those were the days. Or maybe they weren’t. I’m honestly not sure; the ventricoule has scrambled my sense of time.

A special Christmas release from World Circuit and Autumn Of Communion.

nətɪvɪti(nativity) was created especially for the festive season. Inspired by long winter evenings and alpine walks here in Italy and Iceland respectively.
Clocking in at just over 50 minutes nətɪvɪti unwinds and transports the listener to a comfortable armchair and log fire. Gently contemplating the year just passed and celebrating the festive season.

Móatún 7

Móatún 7 is a record label, runned by Futuregrapher, focusing on releasing 7” lathe cut records and sometimes other formats as well. Physical copies are limited, but digital is always available. Quality electronic music from friends and family around the world in Ambient/Techno. Móatún 7 operates as a non-profit organisation, in which each small release pays for the next one. 7” are done in Iceland by vinyll.is - limited to 20/30 pressings for each release. CD’s, or other formats, are done in larger quantities.

Shipments are by default priority first class mail and are standard here from Iceland. If you want tracking number and warranty - you'll have to contact me via mail [email protected]
