Walking inside a glacier is one of those experiences that doesn’t quite register in the moment.

Ice caves like this are constantly forming and collapsing, which means the shape, color, and pathways are never permanent. What you see one day can look completely different just days later.

That’s also why visiting with a certified guide is essential. The ice is always shifting, and safety depends on knowing the conditions.

It’s not just about seeing something beautiful, it’s about stepping into something temporary. And that’s what makes it unforgettable!

No because actually.

The mist at Skógafoss almost guarantees a rainbow, but a double rainbow fells like a bonus! ✨🌈

Seljalandsfoss is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Iceland, and for good reason! Being able to walk behind it makes the experience completely different from just viewing it from the front.

But what makes this stop even better is that just a few minutes away on foot, you’ll find Gljufrabui tucked inside a narrow canyon. It’s easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there.

If you’re driving Iceland’s South Coast, this is one of the most efficient and rewarding stops you can make, two completely different experiences in one go!

Useful tip: bring waterproof layers and shoes, you’ll need them!

Iceland is breathtaking. Our commentary? Questionable 😂

Translation: my friend said that the glacier looked like a piece of ham 🤣

If you’re planning Iceland’s South Coast, don’t skip Jökulsárlón, this place feels almost unreal in person!

It’s one of the easiest ways to see glacier ice up close, especially if you book a boat tour.

The icebergs drift through the lagoon before eventually washing up across the road at Diamond Beach, making it an easy two-stop stretch.

This is the kind of place that makes the drive unforgettable.

Diamond Beach sits right across from Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon on Iceland’s South Coast.

The ice you see here breaks off from the glacier, drifts toward the ocean, and then washes back into the black volcanic sand.

It’s one of those stops that feels completely surreal, and it’s incredibly easy to add to a road trip since both locations are steps from each other.

If you’re mapping out Iceland, this stretch of the South Coast is worth slowing down for.

Stay tuned for the next location: the lagoon where this ice begins! 🧊🇮🇸
