HISTORY

The Loft started in 2010 as an artist residence and atelier in the well popular McKibbin Street, Brooklyn, NY where for many years a large number of artists from all over the world have lived, visited and shared their art in it. CONCEPT

The Loft is a special artistic space which connects all styles of artists under the same roof. In this space, every artist has a platform to share his/h

er talent. We believe in connections, unity and gaining inspiration in order to make the art develop. We believe in sharing and expanding our horizon through the exchange of experiences and knowledge of others. The Loft is an island where time doesn't exist, the inhabitants focus on living in the power of now and keeping their inner child alive. We believe that art, as an expressing tool, permits the soul to free itself, to lighten itself from the daily burdens, and gives positive thinking, constructive energy and motivation to the person. In today’s world, where environmental challenges and social limitations are constantly affecting our minds and bodies, we need a sacred place that connects us back to our own roots, where we can feel free of being and thinking however we want to. We are SO happy to share that the one and only (USA/India) will be part of the Guest Artists’ team for Liquid Times IV – ERASMUS+ Residency & Camp, happening this week in Berlin and Kleinow, Germany! ✨

A true pioneer of street dance, Kundu introduced Hip Hop and House culture to India in 2003, sparking a movement that inspired an entire generation of dancers. Through his groundbreaking Kundu House Project, he has trained and mentored countless artists, many of whom have gone on to represent internationally.

With an extraordinary career that spans the globe, Kundu has taught workshops across Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborated with music icons like KRS-One, Faith Evans, and A. R. Rahman, and brought his artistry to world stages including Cirque du Soleil, the FIFA World Cup, and Saturday Night Live. 🌍🔥

This week, Kundu will be joined by a team of 10 incredible dancers from Sweden, Germany, and Italy, creating a brand-new video piece during the residency. His journey and vision inspire us deeply, and we cannot wait to see what he brings to the floor in Germany! 💜

We are so happy to share that the beautiful will be part of the Guest Artists’ team for Liquid Times IV – ERASMUS+ Residency & Camp, happening next week in Berlin and Kleinow, Germany! ✨

Milena is one of Italy’s renowned Hip Hop & House dancers, teachers, and choreographers. A true pillar of the Italian street dance community, she has spent many years exploring the world of dance internationally, always bringing her expertise, energy, and good vibes wherever she goes.

She is the driving force behind cultural and artistic events in Italy through and leads .accademia , a professional training program dedicated to shaping the next generation of artists.

This time, Milena will be representing Italy in 🇩🇪, joined by a team of 15 talented dancers from across the country. Together, they will join two other international teams for a unique cultural and artistic exchange — and we cannot wait to see what they will create in this inspiring space.

We are incredibly proud to be collaborating with Milena on this journey and wish her and her team the best of luck in this exciting adventure.

We are so happy that our fav will be part of the Guest Artists’ team for Liquid Times lV ERASMUS + Residency & Camp, happening in Berlin and Kleinow, Germany! ✨

We all know the depth of his experience and the refinement of his art. Having traveled the world creating and organizing events, Salifus inspires everywhere he goes, and we are truly excited to have him as part of this project.

This time, he’s bringing with him a team of 12 incredible dancers from France, carefully selected from across the country — and we can’t wait to see what they will create together in this unique space.

We wish him and his team the best of luck, and we’re looking forward to the video they will bring to life.

From the very first moment, you moved us with your movement art — fierce, talented, and radiating a unique posture. Your elegance, refinement, beauty, and bold presence brought a new energy to the space. We learned so much simply by watching your artistry and strong individuality in action.

You didn’t just perform — you celebrated community, and you created it. You wove connections across themes, cultures, and hearts.

Guided by the wonderful and .m.karlsson , this inspiring group of 9 beautiful dancers joined us these last 2 weeks for the European Dance Exchange Program in Kleinow 🇩🇪 — Liquid Times II,
brought to the 🌎 by .jangada in collaboration with The Loft Project & the European Union.

We feel deeply honored to have shared this first Erasmus+ project with them. Their presence filled the camp with inspiring energy and unforgettable lessons — from efficiency and smart use of energy 😉, to organization, discipline, focus, fairness, and truly important values.

We have learned so much from them, already miss them, and can’t wait to cross paths again somewhere in the world. 🌍

Until then, we celebrate their hard work, patience, effort, and the breathtaking artistry they brought to the dance floor. 💛✨

We’re thrilled to welcome the fourth and final Guest Artist of the residency “European Dance Exchange Program_ Liquid Times II” — an Erasmus+ project by .jangada in collaboration with The Loft Project & European Union:

An electrifying presence on and off stage, Elisa is a powerhouse of energy, artistry, and creativity. Originally from Italy and now based in Paris, she is not only an exceptional House and Hip Hop dancer, but also an accomplished singer and performer. She tours across Europe and the world with the 100 Voices of Gospel, and has sung alongside artists like Ben Oncle Soul, Mika, and many other influential names in France and beyond.

Elisa’s dance journey spans both the underground battle scene and the commercial stage, with a rich background in musical, tap dance, acting, and performance arts. She trained extensively in Paris and around the world, constantly evolving her style and presence.

Known for her radiant spirit and positive energy, Elisa lights up every room she walks into. She’s always in a good mood, always lifting others up, and always bringing out the very best in her students and collaborators. As a teacher, she’s passionate, generous, and full of life — and as a performer, she shines with charm, power, and authenticity.

We are so excited to have her join this year’s residency. Get ready for a burst of sunshine, soul, and inspiration! 🌞🔥💫

We’re beyond excited to welcome our next Guest Artist of the residency “European Dance Exchange Program_ Liquid Times II” — an Erasmus+ project by .jangada in collaboration with The Loft Project & European Union:

A powerful force in the Hip Hop and choreography world, Carmel Loanga brings raw energy, emotion, and poetic flow to everything she creates. Trained in Funk Style and Hip Hop, she’s graced major stages across Europe and worked with artists like Oumou Sangaré, Angélique Kidjo, Lenny Kravitz, and SCH — as well as brands like Nike, Lacoste, and Hugo Boss.

Her creations blend dance, cinema, and visual storytelling, with a unique choreographic voice shaped by her “less is more” vision. Pieces like The Dress and L’Ivresse des Lucioles explore identity, womanhood, and inner journeys, and have been performed at La Villette, Palais de Tokyo, and across Europe.

We are honored to welcome her into this year’s residency and can’t wait to dive into her universe. Something powerful is coming. 💫

With deep excitement and gratitude, we are proud to announce the next faculty Guest Artist of the residency “European Dance Exchange Program_ Liquid Times II” / an Erasmus+ project by .jangada in collaboration with The Loft Project & European Union:

Mona Namér is a Moroccan-Swedish dancer, choreographer, and creative director whose artistry moves with elegance and fluidity. Rooted in Hip Hop, House, and Contemporary dance, and trained at Broadway Dance Center in New York, Mona bridges underground battles and commercial stages, weaving movement across theaters, music videos, and film sets worldwide — from Paris and Johannesburg to London, Stockholm, and New York.

Her work draws deeply from her Moroccan and Algerian heritage, offering a rich blend of influences that explore identity, surrealism, and movement as a language of connection. With a strong voice in both choreography and visual direction, Mona seamlessly merges dance, film, and visual storytelling, guiding energy on set with a refined compositional eye and intuitive coaching of dancers, actors, and models alike.

Her short films — including A Bath in My Mother’s Womb (Vimeo Staff Pick, Best Experimental Short at NGIFA, LA) and her most recent piece Hawa, screened at TATE Modern — are striking examples of her vision. She continues to shape new expressive narratives through collaborations with artists and platforms such as Little Dragon, IKEA, Afropunk, Kampnagel, Gothenburg Opera, and many more.

We are truly honored to welcome Mona into the Liquid Times II residency. Her presence brings depth, mystery, and creative brilliance — and we cannot wait to see what unfolds through her lens in this year’s video project.

It’s with great pleasure and deep honor that we announce the first faculty Guest Artist of the residency “European Dance Exchange Program_ Liquid Times ll” / an Erasmus + project by .jangada in collaboration with The Loft Project & European Union:
m.karlsson 💐

She has travelled the 🌍 guided by her Dance Dreams — sharing her craft, inspiring communities, and building bridges through movement. Drawing from a rich tapestry of global cultures, she brings a unique sensitivity and depth to her artistry. A true believer in community, she has been actively organizing events that celebrate and promote House Dance all across Europe.

Her journey spans the underground freestyle battle scene to commercial stages, music videos, concerts, and more. She moves effortlessly between worlds — always grounded, always humble. Her presence is warm, kind, and full of light, and she carries a rare grace into every dance room she enters, touching her students and peers alike.

We are beyond honored to welcome her into the Liquid Times 2 residency, and we can’t wait to witness the vision she’ll bring to life in this year’s video project.

We are beyond excited and grateful to be a part of this project ➖ European Dance Exchange Program ➖ created by .jangada . Liquid Times ll — a powerful dance camp residency bringing together dancers from all across Europe 🤍

We gathered a Dream-Team of inspiring choreographers:
from France 🇫🇷
from Italy 🇮🇹
& .m.karlsson from Sweden 🇸🇪

& 36 selected talents from all over the continent 💎

for an intensive 2-weeks advanced training followed by the filming of a conceptual video piece inspired by the theme of Liquid Times, by artist Josue Abraham, from Mexico.

Not only an artistic hub, but also an important cultural exchange & human connection experience that surely will mark our life journeys.

Hosted in the picturesque Kleinow, Germany, a place built by .jangada that’s been a creative home to artists from around the world for many years 🌍

This project is part of and proudly supported by the EU — empowering the next generation through creative education, through ART. This is the new way of learning, and we are here for it 🙌

We’re incredibly honored to be invited in Rome to the Diploma Ceremony 2023/2025 at Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca on June 30th for the official distribution of special scholarships 🎓✨

These awards will support the participation of selected .accademia students in this summer’s EUROPEAN DANCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM in Germany 🇩🇪 — taking place in July & August in Kleinow.
