When visiting Lake Como, do you take the time and look beyond the fancy towns and stores? You should. Here is a place that is well worth visiting. A short translation from the author's report: We got lost in the narrow streets, filled our water bottles at Piazza Casartelli, and then chose our direction: up, toward the woods. Because one of the lake’s most beautiful loop trails starts right in the center. But the part we truly fell in love with is right there, on the mule trail. If you take it counterclockwise, you stay in the shade the whole time: an hour and a quarter of climbing through the woods up to the Church of Santa Elisabetta, and from up there, the lake is all yours.
