I’ve always been attracted to simple things and simple food. Meat and fish never really tempt me. I love food with very little spice or masala.
That’s why, when I call my mother and ask what she cooked, if she says Mutton leg roast 🥩or chicken 🍗 I think that’s nice and tasty, but I don’t feel like eating it.
But if she says she made 🥗korolla vaji, kakrol vaji, lal shak, 🥬 or dal, I immediately feel hungry! I just love vegetables and fruits more than meat.
Since moving to Europe, I’ve been craving them even more. When I go grocery shopping, the first thing I do is look for new fruits and vegetables. I go to the fruits section 3–4 times! 😅🧐 Recently, after a long time, I found Korolla and cooked it. I love it so much. 😍
I feel lucky that I can still find Bengali fruits and vegetables in Italy and even healthier, fresher versions. 😇 They’re a bit expensive, but I don’t mind. I can live without meat, but not without vegetables!
