Connaisseur Recordings is an Offenbach-based indie-label operating since 2005. The label is run by Alex & Hilary Flitsch (label management & A&R / Offenbach office), Ralph Boege (business affairs / Hamburg office) and Martin Henkel (capital representative / Berlin office).

Ach Rotte, du warst ein Faszinosum, einer der multikreativsten Menschen, die ich jemals kennenlernen durfte. Du warst fordernd, jedes Telefonat mit dir hatte das Potential zu einem Marathon, der mich erschöpft zurückgelassen hat. Aber deine Worte hatte im Nachhall oft Gedanken gesät, die etwas bei mir bewegt haben. Danke dafür und danke für die tollen Projekten, die wir mit dir machen durften. Farewell! 🖤

I was kinda stunned when I got to baggage claim in Bangkok and my AirTag cheerfully informed me that my suitcase had already left the building — without me. With every update, it kept getting farther and farther away, until it finally stopped somewhere about 200 km outside the city… and then ghosted me for an entire day.

Lost and Found jumped straight to the plot twist: they figured someone had taken my suitcase by mistake, especially since another slightly identical Rimowa was left behind, clearly confused and abandoned.
Turns out, they nailed it. A few hours before we had to head back to the airport for our flight to Vietnam, my suitcase and I were finally reunited. Bit dramatic, but at least it made it back in time for the next trip.

For the third edition of our „Present“ anniversary series, we invited our friend Enzo Elia back to Connaisseur. His last release, Inganno Figurativo, proved that Enzo is someone you can turn to for all shades of house music. That made him the perfect choice for a genre close to our hearts: ‚90s French House.

It’s a sound that never truly experienced a proper revival, yet remains timeless to us. Two labels from that era stand out in particular — Thomas Bangalter’s Roulé and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s Crydamoure, both of course better known as Daft Punk. Ba**er is Enzo’s homage to that legacy.

Ba**er is a bouncy, uplifting filter house banger full of playful twists and turns.�Per Brindare a Uno leans into a cut-up, power-house style with nods to the raw energy of „Tracks on da Rocks.“

We love the Italian language, everything sounds like „La Dolce Vita“, even the conversation of Cheema with his manager Marco about our request for „The Presents“.  Introducing “The Presents,” a series of releases leading up to our official anniversary in November.

The second gift comes from the latest addition to our roster: Cheema. After previously releasing the concept album Pulliatronica on Connaisseur, he returns with two tracks that perfectly embody the Sound of Connaisseur - also serving as a nod to the music that inspired us when we started the label.

“Romice” is a timeless, properly driving tech-house cut - reminiscent of an era when tech-house carried no stigma. Uplifting chord themes ride atop a solid, propulsive groove, interwoven with subtle yet captivating melodies and a hypnotic vocal. This track delivers pure energy without gimmicks, making it a universal dancefloor weapon.

“Over and Over” is a wonderfully unusual gem. Hypnotic vocoder vocal loops and a slightly trancy ’90s-inspired synth motif make this one a stunning early morning pearl, perfect for setting the vibe when the sun starts to rise.

We can hardly believe it, but Connaisseur is turning 20 this year! It all began in early November 2005 with our debut release, Patrick Chardronnet’s “Eve By Day.” Not only was it our first track, but it also became our first hit, setting the tone for everything to come. Now, hundreds of tracks later, we’re proudly entering our anniversary year.

To celebrate our anniversary, we’ve gathered musical gifts from some of our beloved artists — tracks that truly resonate with us and embody The Sound of Connaisseur.

Introducing “The Presents,” a series of releases leading up to our official anniversary in November.

The series kicks off with our Offenbach friends Shayde, aka Delenz and Richard IV. With previous releases under this moniker, or in various combinations, on labels such as Live At Robert Johnson, Rawax, Moodmusic, Connaisseur, Delenz’s own label Turbolenz, and an upcoming releases on Cocoon Recordings, Shayde have prepared a special gift for our anniversary.

Two tracks that truly capture the spirit and sound of Connaisseur.

„Karri Otschi“ is a timeless, stomping yet subtle techno track that would also work beautifully in a more uptempo house set. Meanwhile, „Under Clean Blankets“ is a stunning, acid-infused electro tune. A genuine Connaisseur release through and through.
