Maldido Primitivo - Atmosphere Tropical
If this looks and sounds like an overlooked relic from the 'paradise house' era of Italian dance music, that's because it is. First released way back in 1992, it was the work of prolific producers Gianpiero Pacetti (better known for his later work as J.P Energy) and Marco Biondi (who collected aliases like some collect coins and stamps). As it was back then, 'Atmosphere Tropical' is presented in three different mixes. There's the EP-opening 'Caribe Version', where dreamy chords, enticing melodies and rushing piano riffs cluster around a fill-heavy Italo-house beat; the TB-303-sporting 'Camp Nemo Version', which opts for a more psychedelic and spacey late-night vibe; and the deep, driving, heavy, acid-fired otherworldly 'Cosmotribal version', which should appeal to techno, Afro-cosmic and early progressive house enthusiasts.
