Museek

Museek we belong to the aftermath: the way back home. http://playmuseek.com Museek does not aim to be another dance label.

Museek is a brand new digital + physical record label project, born in one of the most uncomfortable places for musicians: Italy. Museek belongs to the aftermath: the way back home. The inspiration comes from the break beats and downtempo sound that can be identified in label such as Ninja Tune and Mo’Wax, with the intelligent pop approach that characterized Morr Music in the early 2000s. In a tim

e completely stuff of micro genres and self-referring niches, the only thing we want to fullfill is the timelapse between the disco and the coming back home, giving an exclusive soundtrack to the “off-of-the-dancefloor” moments.

Two offline events for the launch of our latest CD release.
Yes, it’s 2026, and we’re still making CDs.
Because meeting people, sharing music, and putting a handmade DIY object into someone’s hands is a connection no platform can ever match.

Now back to todays social marketing struggle:

Velcro is here to stay! a debut collaborative album from Modena-born producer and Pizzico Records label head Billy Bogus, and Manchester-based producer, Museek co-owner, and long-time artist Imaginary Part. Recorded asynchronously between Modena and Manchester, the eight-track LP showcases the distinct sonic worlds and studio approaches of the two artists. Sharing the same aesthetic sensibility and passion for jungle beats, they interpret it in ways that remain true to their respective eras. With fifteen years between them, the duo creates a generational blend that results in a compelling clash of sounds and histories devoted to the amen break.

Velcro is the debut collaborative album from Modena-born producer and Pizzico Records label head Billy Bogus, and Manchester-based producer, Museek co-owner, and long-time artist Imaginary Part. Recorded asynchronously between Modena and Manchester, the eight-track LP showcases the distinct sonic worlds and studio approaches of the two artists. Sharing the same aesthetic sensibility, they interpret it in ways that remain true to their respective eras. With fifteen years between them, the duo creates a generational blend that results in a compelling clash of sounds and histories. As their first collaborative work, Velcro began as an experiment in finding common ground across borders and styles. The duo crafts a sonic landscape that pairs sample-based nods to the past with synthetic, forward-looking sound design. The result is a vivid representation of their overlapping musical tastes. If jungle was redefining aesthetic codes through tribal motifs and animalistic imagery during Billy Bogus’s early engagement with the genre, that colourful tribalism has now been replaced by an army of black urban jackets, all uniformly sealed shut with velcro, in a totally opposite aesthetic for a kid like Imaginary Part, who was 7 at the time. The only escape is through shared imagination and common artistical values. Crossing paths through genres dear to both artists, including trip-hop, jungle, breaks, and downtempo, the album fits seamlessly within the Museek catalogue while marking the natural beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two producers hailing from Modena.

Museek Record Label is a collective of friends and collaborators supporting new talent across generations. With mentors like Niccolò Bruni (Billy Bogus) and new entries such as the mastering guru Max Paparella (Peepstyle), the label continues to explore boundary-free music. Their latest release, Tantalus, blends jungle, beats, abstract, and IDM, shaped by culture and wide-backgrounds, but always looking straight forward!

TANTALUS

Museek Record Label has always stood for supporting new talent and emerging voices, but along the way the label has turned into something less formal and more real: a loose collective of friends, collaborators, and affiliates moving in the same direction.

This extended family also includes those who helped shape the project from the start, crossing approaches, scenes, and generations. That’s why it feels natural to mention people we see as mentors, like Niccolò Bruni aka Billy Bogus, long-time friend, producer, and label head of Pizzico Records.

Once again, he let his music connect us to one of his shared projects, this time with Peepstyle, the alias of mastering guru Max Paparella, a truly passionate producer and engineer. The result pulls from memory without leaning on nostalgia: sounds processed through the blue screen of samplers, rough edges intact, drifting between jungle, beats, abstract, and IDM. It’s music that lives between eras, shaped by every generation that has pushed these sounds forward, which his the only direction we would like to take with Tantalus, our latest effort, here to stay and proceed with our story of no boundaries music and true friendship.

Our first SMANIA has been an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and exchange projects shaped by care, dedication, and genuine vision. It was deeply inspiring and reaffirmed our desire to keep moving forward.

We’ll return with new music in 2026, carried by this renewed wave of enthusiasm and energy. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us by buying our music, sharing feedback, and fueling a project driven by pure passion, captured on tape.

(Tnx to the familia for having us)

Waxlife - New Adventures in Lo-Fi EP

Ten years after his debut New Adventures In Lo-Fi EP, Simone Lanza aka Waxlife returns to Museek with the second chapter of the saga. New Adventures In Lo-Fi is a project grounded in a retro electronic, deliberately lo-fi aesthetic, enriched with old-school street breakbeats and timeless abstract murmurs.

Once again, we’re embracing our DIY ethos with a limited-edition cassette featuring six tracks crafted by Waxlife, which is just one of the artistic aliases of Simone Lanza: an eclectic presence in electronic music with two decades of DJing, production, and sound design, moving seamlessly between dancefloors, films, and advertising with the same distinctive sharp approach.

Unearthed from deep in Waxlife archives, this project presents a collection of previously unreleased beats produced between 2009 and 2015. Rather than letting them fade away, this release brings this second batch to light for the first time. Each track captures a snapshot of the New Adventures in Lo-Fi project, preserving the raw textures, moods, and ideas of that period. This tape is both a time capsule and a long-overdue unveiling of a second drop of material that deserves to be heard.

And because you don’t change a winning team, the visual identity is once again shaped by CT. His minimalist vector approach, born from deconstructing typographic forms into bold, uniform shapes, provides the perfect visual counterpart to this past-future nostalgia.

Ten years later the result still channels the spirit of a beat tape, while inhabiting again a world that feels both nostalgically old and intriguingly new.
