This project focuses on creating an innovative vertical farm in Los Angeles to address energy consumption and resource efficiency in urban agriculture. The design incorporates a unique algae-based facade, where algae in a liquid-filled plastic membrane absorbs sunlight, reduces heat, and generates biogas through photosynthesis to power the farm's LED lights.

Between them, the sunken void becomes more than a source of light it is reclaimed as a natural zone within the city, where light, air, soil, and water intersect.

Rather than functioning solely as a production site, the vertical farm becomes a shared space that evolves with the local community. Through this shift, the project proposes a new urban model where production, ecology, and daily life are harmoniously integrated, offering a socially inclusive and environmentally responsive alternative to the conventional factory.
