Poll included! 💃 Our previous photo from the State Opera somehow triggered a spirited public debate on Threads about how we dared to show up “dressed like that” – with Vlasta in an evening gown, which for some commenters was apparently the cultural equivalent of declaring war on tradition. Words like “disrespectful” and “inappropriate” were thrown around with the enthusiasm of someone who’s just discovered the caps-lock key.

Fortunately, others pointed out that we were, if anything, overdressed compared to much of the audience. This, of course, deeply offended those who disliked our outfits in the first place, prompting them to insist that we were exaggerating and that “nobody goes to the theatre like that”.

So yesterday, during another visit to the State Opera, we took a few casual photos. And purely by accident, a gentleman behind us appeared in Adidas trainers, jeans, and a sweater. A bold choice, certainly, but hardly unique – several audience members even enjoyed the entire performance in their puffer jackets, hoods included. One can only assume they were prepared for a sudden blizzard in Act II.

So if we were supposedly “too much”, the general dress code around us was more along the lines of “popped out for milk, accidentally wandered into an opera”.

Same spot we hit for wakeboarding in the summer — just swapping boards for a winter twist. And yes, the wake park’s got all the essentials: mulled wine, hot pear punch, grog, and steaming tea to keep the crew warm.
