TKR Surgery කියන්නේ Total Knee Replacement Surgery සංක්ෂිප්ත නාමයයි. මෙය බොහෝවිට severe osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, හෝ post-traumatic arthritis නිසා බරපතල වේදනාවක් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරිත්වය අඩුවීමක් ඇති පුද්ගලයන් සඳහා සිදු කෙරෙන ශල්‍යකර්මයකි.

🔍 TKR Surgery එකේ අදහස

මෙම ශල්‍යකර්මය සදහා, හෙළි වශයෙන් බිඳුණු හෝ නස්න වූ knee joint එකේ surface එක තවත් कृත්‍රිම implant (prosthesis) එකක් දමා පිළිස්සීමක් සහ වේදනාව අඩු කිරීමයි අරමුණ.

🦵 සන්ධිවිකාශනයේදී ඉවත් කරනු ලබන කොටස්:

1. Femur (තුන්සැරයෙ පස්සෙ කොටස) – femoral cartilage + damaged bone remove කර artificial metal cap එකක් දමයි.

2. Tibia – tibial cartilage + bone remove කර polyethylene insert සහ metal plate fix කරයි.

Metal alloy (usually titanium/stainless steel)

High-grade plastic (polyethylene)

Cemented or cementless fixation (බෝන් සෙමන්ට් එකක් හෝ අලුත් bone growth සඳහා porous surface)
