🎬 We’re thrilled to share that Zweitland, the feature‑debut by Southtyrolean director Michael Kofler, will premiere the 30th of June in the CineCoPro Competition at Filmfest München. Shot entirely in South Tyrol and supported by IDM, it marks a powerful contribution to the festival.

Set in 1961 South Tyrol during a period of political unrest and bombings, the film tells the story of two brothers, one a fugitive terrorist, the other a conflicted artist, and a wife caught between them.

“It is great to see that where once borders existed, we now have teamwork,” says director Michael Kofler, reflecting on a production that brought together cast and crew from Italy, Austria, and Germany.

Wann ist ein Krieg wirklich zu Ende? Der Dokumentarfilm Souvenirs of War nimmt uns mit auf eine essayistische Reise nach Bosnien-Herzegowina, wo sich die Spuren des Krieges in Touristenattraktionen verwandelt haben – zwischen düsterer Neugier und einfühlsamer Erinnerung.

Die Vorführung beleuchtet Fragen der bosnisch-europäischen Erinnerungskultur, des Minderheitenschutzes und der gesellschaftlichen Aufarbeitung von Krieg und Trauma. Im anschließenden Gespräch diskutieren wir über die aktuelle politische Lage in Bosnien-Herzegowina, die Bedeutung der Erinnerung an Kriegsverbrechen und die Rolle einer europäischen Gedenkkultur – 30 Jahre nach dem jugoslawischen Krieg und dem Genozid von Srebrenica.

Our documentary SOUVENIRS OF WAR by Georg Zeller will be presented by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung on May 19 at Filmklubb Offenbach.
“When is the war really over?” The film raises this question through the personal and political echoes of the Bosnian War—echoes that continue to resonate in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.
The screening takes place in the lead-up to the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, underlining the ongoing relevance of remembrance, responsibility, and unresolved trauma.
The event will feature a conversation with director Georg Zeller and Sarajevo-based film’s protagonist Adnan Hasanbegović.
