So close to the home, so far in my dreams.

I'm very happy converted my beloved A7s mk1 to full spectrum. I always liked infrared photography, and I already converted my nex-5n a few years back. Unfortunately I found the old aps-c sensor a bit too limiting to work with, so after a few experiments I almost stopped using it. The sensor the A7s is a different beast, and is still a joy to use these days, perfect to keep experimenting.

These are taken with an infrared 590nm filter. This filter allows not just infrared light, but also a small portion of visible light to hit the sensor. The raw result generally gives red/orange sky and blue foliage, which is then "swapped" in editing to have blue sky and red/orange foliage. The reds can be further processed to obtain a pink/violet tone as in this case, or a yellow one.

Stronger infrared filters like 720nm let less visible light pass through. The result is generally white foliage and red skies, as clorofilla reflects infrared light well. This is the classic dreamy and snowy landscape look of infrared pictures, the sky, or better the one color that is left in the picture, can be brought back to blue or played with in any way you want.

Above 720nm almost no visible light is captured by the sensor, and these filter are used for infrared back and white photography, again with white foliage as a distinctive trait.
