🌲 Day 16 of 🌲

I'm sooo not on time 😂 inktober is cool, but sometimes life decides differently and u can't post everyday 🤷

🌀 Today’s prompt is Blunder, and I chose Leszy — the Slavic forest spirit, protector of animals and wild places.

He can be kind or cruel, depending on how you treat his woods. Step off the path without respect, and Leszy will lead you astray — deeper and deeper, until you’re lost forever. 🌫️

He loves to trick wanderers: swapping paths, mimicking voices, or turning the forest upside down. A single blunder in his domain… and you may never find your way back. 🌿

AAAND again I am late, I didn't manage to post yesterday.. Life 🤷 And I already know that today's prompt will be tomorrow, but I will make it till the end giving you 31 slavic folklore posts 👌

🌑 Day 15 of 🌑

🩸 Today’s prompt is Ragged — and my pick is Licho, the Slavic demon of misfortune, sickness and bad luck.

👁️ She wanders from village to village, cursing everyone she meets — rich or poor, it doesn’t matter. Licho is fair… in her cruelty.

People said she looked like a ragged, one-eyed woman, or a hairy creature creeping through the night. Wherever she went — fires burned, animals fell ill, and dark thoughts whispered in people’s heads. 🕯️

You can’t get rid of her.
She leaves only when she decides to👀

🍯🌕 day 13 – Drink 🍯🌕

✨Today’s prompt felt like a perfect moment to draw something lighter — mead, the ancient honey drink once loved by Slavs, gods, and warriors alike.

🍯In old traditions, mead wasn’t just a drink — it was a symbol of joy, love, and celebration. It was served at weddings, rituals, and feasts, believed to bring warmth and strength to both body and spirit.

🌿Mead we were drinking among others during the Kupała Night, one of the most important oagan holidays. The night to celebrate fertility and life coming back to earth after winter. The mead was there to drink and share with everyone and to basically, get a bit drunk and dance among the fires. 🖤

🌙🕯️ day 12 – Shredded 🌙🕯️

🌫️Today’s prompt made me think of claws — and so came Strzyga (Striga), one of the darkest Slavic creatures. A demon, but also a vampire, she drinks blood and hunts at night.

🦉Born from a child with two souls and heart or teeth at birth, Strzyga returns after death to torment the living. With her long claws, she can shred her victims apart or haunt them with endless nightmares.

✨I tried to capture that eerie, haunting mood — fragile, human, yet terrifying. Hope you can feel it too 🌕

🌛🧹 day 11 - Sting 🧹🌛

Today's monster is associated with the sting in particular way. Mamuna is a demon created from the soul of women who died in childbirth or while being pregnant.

This demon loves to kindnap kids of others and replace them with their own children, ugly, deformed and very weak.

Mamunas looks like an old lady, ugly, old covered with a lot of hair, tangled and dirty.

There is however the way to protect your little ones. What you should do is attach a little red ribbon or pin to the trolley.

🧹🌛 day 10 prompt Sweep🧹🌛

Today for Sweep I draw Baba Jaga. The most famous witch /demon in our folklore. Baba Jaga is looks like an old lady, but be aware as she is not the friendly one.

She iyta known for eating people and putting their skulls over her fence. When she is flying she is sweeping her signs with a broom. She is a personification of a wild nature and fear. Living in a house on the chicken leg in the middle of the forest. Be aware of her and never eat her sweets.

Have a good night everyone!

🌙🌬️ day 9 - Heavy 🌙🌬️

☁️And so another difficult prompt but let's try! I was looking for a proper idea and I found it in our common polish saying "heavy fate" (ciężka dola).
We say that when our life is not going well or the way we hope.

🌬️Slavs believe that our fate is created and chosen by the spirit, some are saying a goddess, that is guiding us since we are born. I'd say like a guardian angel, but not exactly.

🌛Dola, because that's her name is not here to take care of us but more to give us a destiny. It is not fair or just. It is rather random and personally I think it is brutal but very real. According to our believes you can also inherit Dola from your parents or grandparents.

🌟I love the idea of Dola, because she is never white or black. She is created from contradictions and very ambivalent. So it was a challenge to create a character who is giving that vibe.
And so I hope I managed to show on her face.

✨I also want to thank you all for all the likes and views, because it gives me a big pleasure to see that you enjoy my works and I appreciate every support 🫶🥺❤️

Late entry because I didn't organize myself well yesterday 😂 sorry 🙏

✨🌙 day 7, prompt ✨

💧Since all my inktober arts are based in slavic folklore, I couldn't include the actual starfish, because they live only in the oceans, when the only big water we reach is Baltic Sea.
So I decided to just go with one particular thing from our sea that is famous all over the world - amber, and the legend of how it is created.

💍So the amber is tears of a sea queen Jurata. Some are saying she is a mermaid others that she is a goddess, but what it sure that she is a ruler of the Baltic Sea, along with a sea king.

🐚Unfortunately one day Jurata fell in love with a simple fisherman. King was jealous and furious so he chained up Jurata in the bottom of the sea as a punishment and so she can't run away. So till these days when the sea is throwing out pieces of amber on the sore there are in fact Jurata's tears that she cry after her love and freedom.

We have a lot of stories from our Baltic Sea but I find this one such a fairy tale and romantic that I had to chose it :) hope you liked it! Enjoy my sea Mother and her amber tears.🌊

⚡⛈️ Another day of , day 6, prompt Pierce ⚡⛈️

⚡🌙Some of the prompts are really difficult to connect with anything in the topic I chose 😅 but here we are. I connected pierce with a thunder which is. piercing the sky during the storm and so naturally I portraited one of the biggest gods in our pantheon - Perun.

⚡🌙Perun is one the strongest and scariest gods, but he is also bringing life, justice and good harvest. His attributes are (obviously) a thunder but also an axe and hammer. Yes, there are similarities between Perun and Thor, but it is normal, Skandinavians are our neighbors, our myths have some common points.

✨⚡Perun was worshipped mostly by eastern and southern Slavs, and on the south he even had a wife, Perperuna his female version.

What do you think about my version of Perun?
Thank you and see you again tomorrow!

🌟 Day 5 of 🌟

🤍 Today’s prompt is Deer, so I picked Dziewanna — the Slavic goddess of wild forests, hunting, and the moon. She is connected with many animals but above others deers, bears and dogs. 🦌

Dziewanna blesses those who respect the forest, but punishes hunters who kill for greed or travelers who disturb her sacred groves. In many tales she appears as a guardian of freedom, wilderness, and the mysterious life force hidden in nature and sister of Marzanna goddess of the death. Dziewanna instead is associated with life. 🌿✨

I must say, I loooved working on this one and I am really happy about the outcome 🤍

Hope you’ll enjoy my take on Dziewanna!
