WunderWaffen, a multi-player strategy game set at the end of World War II, is now available in Ares Games’ warehouses in US and Europe, and can be ordered from the best game retailers and on the Ares Games web shop. The game was pre-released at Essen Spiel and PAX-Unplugged, with great initial reactions from both newcomers to the hobby and expert gamers.

WunderWaffen is set in the last months of World War II, when the Allies are racing towards Berlin, while Germany tries to resist and develop new “wonder weapons”. Through simple rules, the game recreates the troubled collaboration between the Russian, British, and American Allies in the final phase of the war, and Germany’s desperate attempt to resist until the very end, developing new and lethal weapons.

In the game, the Allies must collaborate to defeat their common enemy but also compete to emerge as the main winner by conquering the most territories. Each faction has specific military forces — infantry, tanks, artillery, aviation — and morale and political resources they can use with strategy and timeliness. The Germany player uses their last troops, together with Research cards, to deploy secret weapons and advanced technologies in an attempt to stop the Allies’ advance and turn the tables on the conflict.

Designed by Walter Obert, WunderWaffen is easy to learn, but presents a deep strategic experience, where every choice matters.

Altay - Seafarers is the first expansion for Altay - Dawn of Civilization, opening the gates to the seas and the mysteries of the ancient Waterfolk. Long forgotten by history, these enigmatic people could command the waves with their songs and bend the ocean to their will.

This expansion introduces three major additions. First, a brand-new game board, the Forgotten Sea, where players can establish harbors and expand their civilizations through maritime routes. Second, new rules for shipbuilding, sailing, and naval combat, supported by fresh action cards and technologies such as Shipwrights, Explorers, and Astronomy. Ships allow players to cross sea zones, settle distant lands, and engage in battles across the waves, with unique advantages and tactical depth.

Finally, Altay - Seafarers adds a completely new playable faction: the Waterfolk. Through the magic of their wise ones, tied to wavebending and song, they can travel the seas without ships. Ares Games, master distributor in North America for some of the best European publishers, has extended its distribution partnerships with Galakta Games (Poland), Tabula Games (Italy), Albi (Czech Republic), Nuts! Publishing and Don’t Panic Games (France) to support these companies with distribution in Europe as well as overseas.

Many new and classic games, including best-sellers like This War of Mine, Mysthea, Mini Rogue, Fighters of the Pacific, and Dirt & Dust are now available in Ares’s Italian warehouse to supply European distributors and retailers. The same logistical hub also allows Ares to service the UK market.

On the shores of a long-forgotten sea, a long, long time ago, lived a people.
They were simple folk, but their wisdom was great, and their songs shaped the waves and lured the creatures of the depths to do their bidding.
Their name is not recorded in the stories, and the few who remember them call them the Waterfolk.

In Altay – Seafarers, the first expansion for Altay - Dawn of Civilization, you will get to re-discover the mystery of an ancient region where water is the true protagonist. Develop the necessary technologies to try and tame it… or at least coexist with it. By playing the new Waterfolk faction, on the other hand, you will explore this lost civilization’s innate connection to the sea, using their mystical powers to travel without ships and gain resources from the depths.

Volfyirion Guilds is a fast-paced, highly tactical deck-building card game for 1 or 2 players. Set in the rich and beautifully illustrated Mysthea Universe, Volfyirion Guilds unfolds just after the events of Volfyirion, sixty years before Mysthea, in a time of fierce rivalry among the five Great Guilds. Volfyirion Guilds can be played as a standalone title or combined with the original Volfyirion card game for expanded gameplay and new strategic depth.

In each match, players take control of a Guild and must destroy all of their opponent’s cities to win. A shared deck of available cards allows for strategic drafting, while powerful combinations, precise timing, and resource management shape the battle. Each match begins symmetrically, but quickly evolves as players tailor their decks, build structures, deploy agents, and attempt to control the mighty dragon Volfyirion.

The mechanics—such as Agents, offering unique abilities, and Vaults, granting persistent effects — bring sophisticated tactical layers, making each decision impactful. Finely tuned card effects, smarter turn management, and reduced randomness ensure great balance and depth without
slowing the game's pace.

Immerse yourself in a game of creativity, deduction, and teamwork with Perfect Mismatch, a fun party game where 2 to 8 players are challenged to guess words from a card, using unusual associations of attributes as hints. Is there anything that is equally square and non-stop? Or extremely herbal, but not verbal at all?

Designed by Alexander Peshkov, Perfect Mismatch can be played in either competitive or cooperative mode, in about 20 to 30 minutes, sharing plenty of laughs while discussing hilarious attribute combinations and the associations they trigger.

Each turn, one player takes the lead and describes a secret word as precisely as possible by swiping beads toward the attributes on the two sides of a board – romantic or problematic, fingerless or fragile, wearable or helpful, extremely entertaining or not washable, and
so on...

The other players must interpret the leader's clues and hurry to vote for their chosen word. The faster they are, the more points they will get.

In cooperative mode, players unite as a team to achieve the highest combined score, working together to interpret hints and strengthen their collective understanding.

TEDOKU roll and write game is now hitting the stores

TEDOKU, a clever “roll, flip, and write” game for any number of players, is now available in US game stores, and will arrive in other countries in the coming weeks. In TEDOKU, players fit polyomino shapes into a Sudoku-style grid - simultaneously and competitively. It’s a fast and rewarding game of logic, geometry, and careful planning, but still simple, ideal for solo gamers, families, and puzzle fans alike.

Players have a sheet with a 9x9 grid, and over 20 rounds they fill it accordingly with their dice rolls and card draws. At the start of each round, one card is flipped, and the die is rolled. The card designates a grid zone - a row, column, or 3x3 sector - while the die shows which polyomino shape must be drawn. Shapes may be rotated, mirrored, or both, but not overlap or go beyond the grid, and at least a part of them must touch the indicated area. After 20 turns, players score points for completed rows, columns, and sectors. The highest score wins, with ties broken by the fewest empty squares.

In the final months of World War II, the Normandy landings paved the way to the occupation of Berlin and the resulting defeat of the German army, which tried to resist until the very end by developing new “wonder weapons. Now, this fascinating historical theme comes to the tabletop with WunderWaffen, an asymmetric strategy game by Walter Obert. Considered the most versatile among Italian game designers, he has created quirky games like "Ugg-Tect" and "Kragmortha", evergreen party games such as "Tokyo Train", and children’s games like "Drei Magier" and "Janod".
