Egisto Lancerotto belongs to the "Venetian School", that group of artists trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice who embraced the Tuscan influences of the Macchiaioli, interpreting them with typically Venetian coloristic approaches and focusing primarily on genre themes. Artists such as Guglielmo Ciardi, Giacomo Favretto, Alessandro Milesi, and Ettore Tito are among them.
He has exhibited in various exhibitions, both nationally – Venice, Turin, Ferrara, Florence, Verona, Palermo, Rome – and internationally – Paris, London, Antwerp, Munich, Nice, Vienna, and Chicago.
