The prickly pear, aka fichi d'india (in Italian), is so tasty 😋 found all over the island of Sicily, these make great jams and conserves in a variety of colours, including green, yellow and red.

My man made a salad last night, mixing them with cucumber, melon, carrot and fresh basil, a squeeze of lemon, and a dash of olive oil. So 🤤🤤🤤

Also quite the symbol of Sicily, prickly pears are found in a lot of artwork, especially ceramics and textiles🌵🍐
