The Assurdo Film Festival is back with a brand-new formula, and we’re ready to spotlight your most absurd, rebellious, and unconventional creations. If you believe that reality is far too mundane, join us and let the absurd take center stage!

Are you feeling absurd enough to be part of the new monthly edition of the Assurdo Film Festival?
Your originality could be celebrated with monthly awards, chosen in the first days of every month by our daring jury in a private screening — no fixed deadlines. Every category is in play: from the traditional Best Film or Best Director, to the bold Absurd Genre Awards that honor the very essence of creative madness.

But that’s not all.
We have a special category you’ll only find here:
The Rebel Vision Award – assigned monthly to the boldest, rawest, and most independently produced film that fully embodies the rebellious and absurd soul of our festival. Perfection doesn’t matter — what counts is the courage to break the rules.

And because rules are meant to be bent, our jury may also decide to assign Special Mentions (think Best Wannabe Absurd or Best It Deserved an Award So We Created One), just in case your film demands something truly out of the ordinary. These unofficial awards appear only when absolutely necessary — and trust us, the more absurd, the better.

At the end of the season, our jury will handpick the finest works for the Official Annual Selection, which will be screened at our final event in April 2026. Selected titles will be announced on our website and social media channels.

Plus, every submitted film is automatically added to Shortmoviedatabase.com, an important international showcase for indie creators. No extra steps, no extra cost — just extra visibility for your cinematic rebellion.

🎬 7° Assurdo Film Festival – Una serata indimenticabile

È stata una gran bella serata, di quelle che ti fanno ve**re voglia di credere ancora nel cinema. Quello ribelle, anticonvenzionale, impossibile da etichettare. Quello che non trovi altrove, che non scorre sulle piattaforme, ma pulsa in sala: Assurdo.

Il pubblico ha risposto con entusiasmo: la sala era gremita di appassionati, curiosi alla prima esperienza e registi che hanno portato il proprio sguardo, partecipando con calore e condivisione. Un momento collettivo, dove la differenza l’ha fatta l’energia.

Abbiamo celebrato insieme tutti i film nominati della stagione e applaudito i vincitori delle tre categorie principali:

🎬 7th Assurdo Film Festival – An Unforgettable Night

It was a truly great night, the kind that makes you want to believe in cinema again. The kind that’s rebellious, unconventional, impossible to label. The kind you won’t find anywhere else – this is Assurdo.

The venue was packed with film lovers, first-time attendees, and passionate directors who brought their unique perspectives, sharing warmth and energy. A real collective moment, where what mattered most was the vibe.

We celebrated all the nominees of the season and applauded the winners of the three main categories:

Cambio di sede per il 7° Festival Internazionale del Cinema Assurdo: vi aspettiamo al Salone della Cooperativa Agricola!

A causa dell’inagibilità del Centro Culturale Pertini, il nostro Festival resta a Cinisello Balsamo ma cambia location. L’appuntamento è per sabato 5 aprile 2025, alle ore 20.30, presso il Salone della Cooperativa Agricola (Via Mariani 11). L’ingresso è gratuito e siamo pronti ad accogliervi con la stessa passione e la stessa voglia di celebrare il cinema assurdo. Non mancate!

7th International Absurd Cinema Festival Venue Change: Join us at the Cooperative Agricultural Hall!

Due to the unavailability of the Pertini Cultural Center, our festival remains in Cinisello Balsamo but will move to a new location. Join us on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 8:30 PM, at the Cooperative Agricultural Hall (Via Mariani 11). Admission is free, and we’re excited to welcome you with the same enthusiasm and dedication to celebrating absurd cinema. Don’t miss it!
