Today's topic: the Copy of Poland dairy Polmlek filling ESL and Aseptic.

The Poland dairy Polmlek fills low acid dairy products and desserts on an aseptic pouch machine from IMA Fillshape.

The market for spouted pouches continues to grow rapidly. They are extremely easy for consumers to handle and manufacturers benefit from lower storage space compared e.g. with pre-formed cups.

These are the reasons why Polands’s dairy company has chosen this consumer-friendly packaging for its’ new products. The pouch filler Ermetika Aseptic EAS240 is a continuous motion rotary filler with a capacity of 240 pouches per minute. The machine works with premade pouches, spouts and caps.

Polmlek Group is the leader of the Polish dairy industry – the largest private company in the sector, built entirely on domestic capital. For over 30 years, it has been setting the standards for quality, innovation, and development. With 15 modern production facilities, over 5,000 employees, unique recipes, advanced technologies, a robust logistics network, and a presence in international markets, Polmlek stands on solid foundations – a brand that combines tradition with the future.

Today's topic: the recycled HDPE material for food packaging.

The project is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth and is planned over a four-year period. This schedule is set to match the PPWR 2030 timeline, enabling the solution to move from pilot validation to industrial-scale production at the right moment.

From 2030, packaging in the EU must contain a minimum proportion of recycled material. ALPLA and NTCP are working on a future-proof and affordable solution for plastic food packaging. The patented recycling technology is expected to deliver food-safe HDPE recycled material (rHDPE) on an industrial scale for the first time. Following several years of R&D with successful laboratory results, the two project partners have just started evaluating the solvent-based process at the NTCP site in Heerenveen.

Today's topic: the sustainable food packaging.

The new Mini-Tray packaging machine, part of the Gampack Group’s Green Solutions line, is engineered to respond to the increasing market demand for sustainable packaging within the food & beverage industry and across related sectors.

Developed and optimized using direct customer feedback, the system was unveiled at the latest Ipack-Ima in Milan and will serve as a flagship solution at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf(Hall 11 – Stand 11G02), where its role in advancing eco-efficient packaging technologies will be highlighted.

Why is the Mini Tray packaging machine widely recognized as a green packaging solution that convinces both manufacturers and consumers?

The answer lies in three fundamental drivers:

Material reduction: The system minimizes paper usage and supports recyclable or compostable materials, reducing CO₂ emissions and simplifying downstream recycling.

Energy efficiency: Low-consumption components help decrease overall energy use, lowering operating costs while reducing environmental impact.

Consumer-perceived quality: Its compact and clean design enhances product aesthetics, showing that sustainability can coexist seamlessly with functionality and strong shelf appeal.

The strong international response achieved at the Milan exhibition confirms that the Mini Tray meets the needs of markets increasingly focused on sustainability, high performance, and dependable after-sales service.

Today's topic: the Reduction of CO₂ emissions in greenhouse horticulture.

Albert Heijn, the Netherlands-based brand of Ahold Delhaize, is partnering with Eneco, strategic partner Bakker Barendrecht and Dutch growers to accelerate the reduction of CO₂e emissions in greenhouse horticulture. This joint initiative focuses on achieving these emission cuts more rapidly.

Together, they aim to achieve a 70% reduction in CO₂e emissions by 2030, compared with 2018, for all vegetables and fruits grown in greenhouses for Albert Heijn. With this collaboration, the partners want to show that sustainability and food security can go hand in hand and support each other.

Today's topic: the OptiCut RL54 linerless label material for thermal printing technology.

A long-term test carried out by GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH, a recognised expert in thermal printing technology, has demonstrated the high durability of UPM Raflatac’s OptiCut™ RL54 linerless label material. The system completed two million consecutive cuts without any blade cleaning, confirming a tangible reduction in maintenance needs and greater operational continuity for industrial labelling processes.

This achievement confirms the advanced processing performance of the OptiCut adhesive, engineered to minimize residue and support continuous, trouble-free operation in high-speed linerless cutter systems, reducing maintenance needs and enhancing productivity in industrial labeling workflows.

Today's topic: Inside Volpak’s Lean Logistics Revolution: how automation and smart design are reshaping the plant.

Volpak, a Coesia company and a global leader in HFFS solutions for flexible packaging, has launched a major intralogistics transformation at its historic Barcelona site, integrating Lean principles, automation and data-driven process redesign. The project was executed in just six months and represents one of the most significant logistics upgrades in the company’s history.

Volpak’s Barcelona site is spread across two levels—a configuration that naturally limits traditional warehouse expansion. To overcome this, the new system leverages vertical conveyors, high-density storage, and multi-level transport routes, creating a continuous material flow across the plant. The resulting architecture introduces a multi-level material-flow system designed to maximize capacity and minimize travel time. Each component, from inbound goods to production orders, is tracked and routed automatically through intelligent conveyors and buffer zones, linking warehouse, inspection, and assembly areas with precision timing.
