✨This trip was truly special for me — I combined two places at once: I visited Oslo, Norway for the very first time (my 34th country 🌍), and then returned to my beloved Dolomites in Italy — for the third time already.
📍 Oslo welcomed me with calmness and contrast. The city is divided into a classic part with wide streets and old architecture, and a modern, stylish area by the fjords with futuristic buildings. According to the forecast, it was supposed to rain, but as I like to joke — we always get lucky with the weather 😅
We booked a hotel up in the mountains, overlooking the whole city, very eco-friendly, cozy, beautifully “blended into nature,” and surrounded by forest. ( )
That morning started with heavy rain, so we stayed a little longer in the hotel’s cozy lobby, waiting for it to pass… and at one point, when I looked up from my book, I saw an incredible view outside the window: the clouds stretched below us, glowing in the sunlight, with tall pines creating the most magical pattern. It was a real “wow” moment.
Oslo itself is calm and very slow-paced. Even the metro moves like a suburban train 😄 Everything is well-organized, transport and logistics work perfectly, and the infrastructure is highly developed.
The people are friendly, and there are many from different countries, but what impressed me most were the local girls — surprisingly similar in appearance: natural blondes with blue eyes and delicate facial features.
⛰ The Dolomites are a completely different story and a piece of my soul. The first time I saw these mountains, I fell in love forever. They’re so breathtakingly beautiful that sometimes you don’t believe your eyes — it feels like you’re looking at a painting rather than reality. I dream of having a little house there one day, to come back, slow down, and recharge.
This part of Italy is always fascinating — everywhere you see two languages, Italian and German, the houses look like alpine chalets but with an Italian touch of warmth — flowers on the balconies. And of course, that unique sense of peace that makes you want to return again and again.
