Owned by Canadian horseman Logan Bird, the 2011 buckskin gelding has accumulated more than $1.55 million in career earnings, according to the Canadian Pro Rodeo Association (CPRA). His rรฉsumรฉ includes four Pro Rodeo Canada - CPRA Tie-Down Roping Horse of the Year titles, two Calgary Stampede championships and nine Wrangler Official NFR National Finals Rodeo go-round victories.
But Peso's reputation in the United States began with an unforgettable NFR debut.

At the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, tie-down roper Shane Hanchey suddenly needed a new mount after his regular horse, TJ โ owned by Logan Bird โ died less than two weeks before the Finals.
Bird asked Hanchey to trust Peso, despite the horse having never competed at the NFR.
The decision immediately paid off.
In Round 1 of the 2021 NFR, Hanchey and Peso stopped the clock in 7.4 seconds to win the round in front of 16,804 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center. The official NFR Experience described the victory as an emotional moment following the loss of Hanchey's regular mount.
That performance marked the beginning of Peso's remarkable NFR career.

Peso's value at the NFR has been his ability to perform for multiple top-level competitors.
Over the years, the buckskin has carried leading professional tie-down ropers including Ty Harris, Joel Braden Harris,Tuf Cooper, Kyle Lucas and Logan Bird.
At the 2024 NFR, Peso competed with three different cowboys and produced one of the most financially significant performances by a tie-down horse during the Finals. He earned money in eight of ten rounds, with his riders โ Ty Harris, Joel Braden Harris and Tuf Cooper โ collectively earning $292,304.95 aboard him.
That performance further established Peso as a horse capable of repeatedly producing at the highest level while carrying different riders.

Peso returned to Las Vegas for the 2025 NFR, again carrying multiple competitors.
That year, he was ridden by Joel Harris, Ty Harris and Kyle Lucas.
The Finals produced another standout performance.
Joel Harris won Round 6 aboard Peso with a 6.8-second run and followed it with another victory in Round 7, stopping the clock in 7.5 seconds. The back-to-back victories added more than $70,000 to Harris's NFR earnings over those two rounds.
Peso ultimately finished the 2025 NFR with three go-round victories and nine placings, with his riders earning approximately $279,150 during the Finals.

While Peso's U.S. NFR rรฉsumรฉ has made him widely recognized among American rodeo fans, his record in Canada is equally significant.
