TAKE NOTICE that there will be a NASSIT, Sierra Leone Bar Association seminar on Tuesday, the 29th July, 2025 at the *Freetown International Conference Centre, Aberdeen, Freetown at 9:30am.

Please be informed that this seminar will be conducted with a view to sensitizing members on the pension scheme for legal practitioners in private practice on the package of the scheme, advantages and the importance of being a member.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE* that members of the SLBA are encouraged to attend. We plead with Heads of Chambers to encourage legal practitioners in their law firms to attend.

Please note that the following documents/items will be required to enroll into the scheme:

*1. National Identity Card*;

*2. If there are dependants, birth certificates of dependants and marriage certificate where necessary*;

*3. If an applicant has been enrolled into the NASSIT scheme before, NASSIT number*.

Former Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has passed away this afternoon in London following a brief illness.

Buhari, who is a Nigerian retired politician, served as the President of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.

His death was confirmed via his official social media handle where the family highlighted that " they regret to announce his passing"

🚨 Tragic News

Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota has tragically passed away at the age of 28 following a car accident in Spain. The incident occurred early on July 3, 2025, on the A-52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria in Zamora province. His brother, André, also lost his life in the crash.

Jota was a key player for both Liverpool FC and the Portuguese national team, known for his clinical finishing and explosive pace. He had recently celebrated his wedding just two weeks prior to this tragic event.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and fans around the world during this difficult time. May he rest in peace. 🕊️
