When taking a picture, I'm training myself to think first and foremost - not to say only - about myself. I truly think that's the way you should think anytime you are creating something.
Think about what you want to do, to see and to feel (90%) and then about why you want to do it (10%).
Creation must be visceral, selfish for anyone who wants to talk about what makes us human and what defines our time.
Clients (and I include here brands, influencers, anyone paying you or sadly not paying you for your work) will ask you something: do not obey. No motivational poster will tell you that: when creating, be selfish and do not give a f**k.
Thanks once more to The Rake Magazine for publishing my story "Put the street back into street style", it's online and you'll find the link in my bio.

I feel I've been very lucky to have spent time with those guys (and Tomoyoshi Takada and of whom I don't have any good portraits, (sorry about that).
I could never have imagined 8 years ago when I was watching at images of on internet in my little office thinking "wow, I wish I could assist to such an event" that this could have had happened.
I'm happy I could tell my story, you should check it out as it's live on The Rake Magazine (link in bio).
And of course I'm very lucky to have had the hotel open ahead of it's time to have us! @ VIEW ON ART

The Rake Magazine publishes today a story I thought about elegance, street style and . Thanks to Guillaume Bo for his precious help and of course to Shaun Gordon (Shaun Gordon - Refining Your Style Through Detail), Shuhei Nishiguchi, Daniele Biagioli, Franco Mazzetti - Florence, Tomoyoshi Takada, Serizawa Ryosuke and Filippo Matera for attending and being such elegant gentlemen. We woke up early, but it was worth it.

Photographer Charles-Edouard Woisselin brought together the menswear industry’s finest at Pitti this year to get under the skin of ‘streetstyle’.

Wouldn't that picture be much better without anyone around, just and ?
I think so too, but I didn't take this picture. Instead I took that one which I like anyways, thanks to the look Niels is giving me.
Still it's very representative of the frustration that job gives me: I'd like the other picture to exist, but either I'm bad at my job, or it's impossible to get it unless I have the Fortezza to myself. 🤷🏼‍♂️

To me, the assumption we make that analog is better than digital is wrong.
I remember the first time I heard it, I was struck as the excuse made that day was "you're never going to be watching these photos on your computer in a million years".
Why wouldn't I though? Proof is, I regularly take a look at old pictures and more than that, I'm one of those guys that still have a Flickr account, where absolutely all my retouched pictures are organized. What can I say? I'm a nostalgic digital kind of man.

Yet another Vespa gentleman caught during Milan Fashion Week 🛵
This time though, I was waiting outside Gucci, when they used to do it near Porta Venezia, and lost in my thoughts, I saw this elegant guy cutting through traffic. As the specific noise of the Vespa was getting louder, I caught the camera, pointed and shot without having any time to frame and adjust correctly.
It's funny how sometime you work long hours to get what you had in mind and how some other times, you point, shoot, and get good surprises. I don't believe in god or fate, but Photography has shown me time and time again that there are signs out there of a photographer's luck.

I've been watching a lot of tips and tutorials on YouTube lately, to the likes of "6 things you should do when retouching your pictures", or "9 things to improve your portraits" - kudos to .
It's somehow liberating and I decided to take a look back at old pictures, reframe them, retouch them differently, maybe try and look at them with a fresh and new look.
I took this picture during Milan Fashion Week around September 2015, the only Women's Fashion Week I ever covered. I don't think it gets more Italian than this. If you want to see a different perspective of this shot, go to my stories and you'll see a slightly different but still very Italian moment.

That Fernando shot I did for encompasses so many things I love about his style and his way of life. 🛵
Of all the guys I've met in this industry during the few years I've been around, Fernando might be the guy that still surprises and inspires me. And he's definitely in the - very short - list of the very few people I miss from Madrid.
You should check his work here on Instagram and his store if you ever are in Madrid at Calle San Pedro, 10.
