We just moved into an apartment after living in an RV for 5 years (for.my husband's traveling job). I have never enjoyed cooking as much as I did tonight! I had room, everything I needed was easily reached, and best of all...there is a dishwasher, so it was all cleaned up before we even sat down.

I found a local farmers market, so all of the veggies are homegrown.

I'm loving life!

Pork loin and gravy, mashed red potatoes with browned garlic and parmesean cheese, fresh green beans with bacon, and the sweetest corn I've ever tasted!

Does anybody add milk to the water when boiling corn? I don't know why I do and have no idea if it really changes anything. I picked it up somewhere and just keep doing it. Lol

What's for supper tonight? Corn on the cob from a neighbor, off the vine fryed green tomatoes, home made Cole slaw, fresh corn bread, deviled eggs and baked beans!! After that settles there'll be freshly sliced, local, peaches and ice cream. YUM! 😋

Y’all better not come for me I’m only 22 🤣
Last night I seasoned & baked a whole chicken, cooked box shells & cheese, as well as homemade yams. Tonight I cooked pork spare ribs in the crockpot, well seasoned as well as onions, carrots, and apples for sweetness. With biscuits and rice & brown gravy. 🥰

I have tried all the different ways to cook bacon that people suggest put it in the oven and put it in the microwave etc...

I have tried all the different ways to cook bacon that people suggest put it in the oven and put it in the microwave etc. and I have found that the best way to cook bacon is just fried it up in a pan. Taste the best and crispiest, sometimes the old-fashioned way is best.

Well I'm celebrating tonight here in the hotel with a couple Braunschweiger, onion and yellow mustard sandwiches. What am I celebrating... one year ago today I put the bottle of whiskey and beer down and never looked back!! 🥳 I didn't have a lighter to light the candles lol!! Oh, a little Icecream for later.
