🌟 New Episode Alert: A New Life in Italy podcast!
We're excited to share the latest episode, where host Samantha Wilson breaks down why a visa is more than just an entry ticket to Italy—it’s your first step toward long-term residency, EU rights, and even Italian citizenship.
Here’s a quick snapshot of what you’ll learn:
Your Visa Opens Doors: A visa lets you apply for a permesso di soggiorno (permit to stay), which is needed to later register residency and access essential services like healthcare, banking, and more.
Paths to Citizenship: There are several routes to becoming an Italian citizen. Marriage to an Italian citizen or citizenship by naturalization/descent from an Italian-born parent or grandparent can shorten the timeline. For others, citizenship through residency is possible after 10 years of legal residence (or 4 years for EU citizens). Prior to that, after five years, anyone can apply for an EU long-term residence permit, granting many rights similar to citizenship. Make sure to tune in for the specifics.
Plan Strategically: Different visas—elective residency, digital nomad, investor—can serve as stepping stones toward long-term residency and/or citizenship. The key is choosing the right path for your goals.
If you’ve been waiting to make Italy your home, your visa could be the fresh start you need.
