2025 is coming to an end, and while reflecting on these past months, I felt like sharing a couple of quotes that I believe sum up what I’ve lived through this year.
The first one comes from The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin — a book I truly loved and somehow lost shortly before leaving for the work season this summer (and I hope that whoever found it can draw just as many useful reflections from it):
“Whatever you choose to do, it’s always helpful to have traveling companions. They don’t have to be like you; it’s enough that, in some way, they think like you. Creativity is contagious.
When we spend time with others who share our interest in art, we absorb and exchange a way of thinking, a way of seeing the world. A community like this can be called a ‘Sangha,’ which in Sanskrit means ‘community.’ Through these relationships, each person begins to access more inspired ways of seeing.
It doesn’t matter whether their artistic form matches yours or is completely different. Being part of a community of people passionate about art — people you can talk with at length and receive feedback from — is an enriching experience. Belonging to an artistic community can be one of the greatest joys in life.”
The second quote, I read just yesterday on Instagram. This one, I think, sums up my entire life path so far — something I’ve only recently come to realize:
“An artist who isn’t trying to impress ends up being impossible to ignore.”
To everyone who listened, shared, or even just gave a minute of their attention — to those who encouraged me and stayed close, even though I know I’m not always easy to be around — thank you.
I don’t see 2026 as a new beginning, but as another step deeper into the same journey.
And you — what did 2025 give you?
