🇬🇧 Venus Williams and Andrea Preti will get married on the Island Ischia - Italy, 💍
The island is preparing to host the wedding of the couple on Friday. The eldest of the Williams sisters is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, having won forty-nine WTA titles as well as seven Grand Slam singles tournaments out of sixteen finals. She also has fourteen Grand Slam doubles victories with her younger sister Serena and two in mixed doubles. The romance between the green island and Venus Williams blossomed last year when the tennis player vacationed in Sant'Angelo, the picturesque village on the southern coast of Ischia: it was then that she chose the island as the location for a wedding that promises to be a fairytale. The wedding will be celebrated at the Punta Imperatore lighthouse, which stands on a promontory overlooking the sea and is one of the most evocative locations in the entire Gulf of Naples. It offers breathtaking views of the sea and is accessible only on foot via a path carved into the tuff rock with 155 steps.

Reaching a height of 789 metres, it towers above the rest of Ischia. The majority is covered in lush greenery, with a few vineyards and white lava occupying its slopes.

🇬🇧 Nestor's Cup is an eighth century BC wine cup discovered in 1954 in San Montano’s cemetery, it is associated with the ancient trading site of Pithekoussai in Magna Graecia, nowadays called Ischia. The cup has more inscriptions, it is one of the earliest surviving examples of writing in the Greek alphabet. It is held by the Museo Archeologico di Pithecusae, Ischia.

🇮🇹 La Coppa di Nestore è una coppa da vino dell'VIII secolo a.C. scoperta nel 1954 nella necropoli di San Montano, a Ischia. È associata all'antico sito commerciale di Pithekoussai, in Magna Grecia, oggi chiamata Ischia. La coppa presenta numerose iscrizioni ed è uno dei primi esempi sopravvissuti di scrittura in alfabeto greco. È conservata presso il Museo Archeologico di Pithecusae, a Ischia.

🇬🇧 The Aragonese Castle of Ischia, it is a castle built on a small tidal island east of the island, the first castle was built around 450BC. It is on a volcanic rock that connects to the larger part of the island by a small stoney bridge.
You can visit it for a small admission fee, open from 9am to sunset.
